That should be celebrated but I can't help thinking that if every country in Europe had stepped up to the plate 3 years ago I might be typing something completely different.
I think almost everyone believed Ukraine would collapse which would have meant everything falling into ruSSian hands

Three cunts

Until you can transplant a human brain there is no chance that anyone living past 90 will have the wherewithal, awareness of their surroundings or decision making skills to stay at the top of a country like China or Russia, so it’s a completely moot point if they can extend life until that point.

Tokmak is the key rail hub isn’t it? Taking that would be a real game changer

This was the target in the 1st major offensive. Unfortunately that one didn't go to plan, but now with drones etc it might well be in a better position to go for. If I recall the main issue was the mine fields. really deep midfields that were protected long range by Helicopters popping up and taking out the mine clearers and any hardware that was trying to get through.

if they could use land based drones to take out the mine fields ( will take a lot of suicide drones to do it ) and try to minimise any impact from glide bombs and helicopters it would be in a better place.

It would be a massive massive victory if they manage to do that. a hell of a lot of defensive lines to break through tho

Also a lot of units, from a quick check they have this lot moving forward
1152nd motorized rifle regiment
108th Airborne Assault Regiment
247th Guards Air Assault Regiment
429th Motorized Rifle Regiment
125st Regiment (DPR)
45th Guards Spetsnaz Brigade
70th motorized rifle regiment
1445th motorized rifle regiment
392nd Motorized Rifle Regiment

Day 1290 Review:

Of note:
1. Lots of Russian infiltration units getting to a village, raising a flag then getting eradicated in short order. Totally ineffective, but provides propaganda to the Russian people and to the west to show victory is inevitable - which it isn't - isn't anywhere near in fact.
2. Munich NATO meeting today. Is it Trump's very own Munich moment?

Only likely to happen when/if:
1. Large numbers of 1 tonne JDAM glide bombs available to Ukraine. The Russians still rely on strong points for defence. Ukraine defense tactics have already adjusted to this to counter severe impact of big Russian glide bombs on strong points. Basically defensive lines need to be destroyed in any attack.
2. Ukraine's Anti-drone drones have been delivered in large numbers - the production is really starting to ramp up now and it is starting to effect the Russian nighttime assaults. Drone defence is essential for any attack.
3. Ukraine AI drone swarms are available (they have just started being deployed). Anything that moves behind the lined needs to be attacked by multiple drones.
4. Land drones hosting HMG and shoulder launched projectiles deployed. This too is coming. Assaulting dug in positions is difficult and man power expensive.
5. The Russian summer meat Assault is blunted (see Sunny, Pokrovsk etc). Ukraine counter attacks are much more successful when Russian lines are stretched and forces reduced in capability.
6. Russian supplies are limited by destroying Rail infrastructure and gasoline/diesel production.
7. Better drone based anti-mine capability (as you have eluded too).

Probably will eventually, the Russians are moving a lot of units etc from Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions to Donetsk.
Maybe a Ukrainian push in them regions.

Slava Ukraini.
Ukraine has the benefit of pushing east or south west from this point. Russia has to move forces quite a way to defend against a push that may happen. Whereas Ukraine can quickly deploy against a push up from the south (from the Zaporizhzhia oblast) or east (from Luhansk/Donetsk oblast).

Oh, I dunno. Trump died only last week and there he was again the other day spouting nonsense. Mind you, they had no need to transplant a brain!
