Right back options

I don't have any axe to grind with either of them, I want them to do well and will never go "Edghill" on them at a game on principle. I was there as a kid when that happened and it was really sad to see, cruel
I hope that we NEVER see that again as a club - truly toxic and unacceptable
SUPPORT the players who are out there

They might appear as wingbacks but whether they've got the fight is yet to be seen. I'd be all for a change in formation. In our current predicament it surely warrants a go. Want me to phone Pep or will I give you the honour?
I’d go 3-5-1-1

Khus stones and gvardiol playing a bit deeper (stones a free man for teams playing 1 up front)

Rejinders rodders and Gonzales as a three

Very solid

Your wingbacks, then one of Phil/marmoush/cherki playing behind erl

While it is certainly more solid,I'm not sure how creative it would be.

You would also have the problem that we'd have a lot of attacking talent that wouldn't play. We'd have Foden, Marmoush, Savinho, Bobb, Doku, Cherki for one position.

Might be ok in the short term considering the injuries we have to those players but I can't see it working when everyone is fit and we have 6 quality players for one position.

Tomiyasu ex Arsenal currently without a club(linked with AC Milan) is a better right back than both Nunes and Lewis. Im not saying for a minute we should sign him but its a sad indicator.

If we are after a right back then Ryerson at Dortmund is not a bad option. Quite tall, versatile can play both rb and lb has also played cb in back 3 and in midfield as well

Just way too defensive and unnecessary. Having 3 attackers vs a low block isnt going to get us anywhere, we have a lack of creativity as it is..

Who plays rb in our EDS?? Surely there is someone with potential already on the books?
That’s what most teams do (including our nearest challengers) when they are short in any position, rather than shoehorning a player in an unfamiliar position.

At the start of last season we had a surplus of right backs/ right wing backs.
We sold Cancelo and Couto for about 25m each, loaned out Kabore, still had Walker plus back ups in Akanji and Lewis.
Obviously Pep and Cancelo couldn't or wouldn't patch up their differences.
Couto never saw a a blade of grass at the Etihad and the only run out Kabore got was a few minutes st Wembley in the Charity Shield.
I'm assuming very few envisaged the deterioration of Walker but now we are left with Nunes and Lewis with Akanji now gone.
It genuinely feels that Pep thinks he can turn any player gd wants into that position or it just doesn't concern him.

Not even. He was an unused substitute.

Please don’t think it was aimed at you.
You have a valid point too. My thought is a culmination as a result of many posts from others not you.
You can back them and can also have the opinion that neither are good enough though. There is a fair bit of evidence to suggest both aren't at the level to play for city but it doesnt mean the people who hold those opinions dont support either when they step onto the pitch.

Some of the criticism may be a bit over the top but I think a lot of it stems from seeing continual brainfart moments from Nunes and the same oblivious defending from Lewis. Of course its going to anger some when it continually costs us.
