Raheem Sterling

He had some shocking moments for us (Lyon will haunt me) but he was a top player for us for a good few years. People go on about our wingers lack of goals and assist, Sterling was a machine. For 3/4 years he was scoring 20+ goals a season and 15+ assists a season. We'd chop our cocks off for those types of numbers from Doku and Savinho.
Jeremy ‘one league assist to Haaland’ Doku.

Never good enough. Relied on his speed. Saudi for a final pay day.
Rubbish! If you need to criticise then it would be his finishing! However, if Uefa and their newly introduced VAR had not been corrupted and ruled out his injury time winner in that QF Champion leagues QF v Spurs, that goal would have been up there along side the Aguero 93:20!

That team in that season was the greatest team of all time. I was lucky to be at Southampton to witness the Jesus goal. History is all about such moments.
That goal though not at the same levels as Aguero and Gundo, is right up there with any goal i've celebrated. Bet it was amazing to be there for.

I celebrated that goal for about a week before I realised it was disallowed. Sterling was absolutely electric that night

Look where the 2 of them are now.
A real downgrade to their top days with us.
No player stays at the top for ever.

Both Leroy and Raheem had their best days at Manchester City. Why can’t we just celebrate that and stop taking cheap digs at lads, who have moved on.

As @willipp said, we’d give anything for wingers, who could reproduce the numbers of goals and assists that this pair did, while we broke all sorts of records.

There's very few taking cheap digs. Concensus seems to be that the football played when Sane and sterling were with us was as good as if ever was.
Sane left when he was 24ish and Sterling when he was around 27.
I would consider both still young players at that time.. For whatever reason, Sterling has never reached the levels he displayed with us and Sane, still only 29 , left us 5 seasons ago and should be playing at a higher level than he is now.
Based on their time and achievements with us, both should still be coveted players.

I think it was Pep’s biggest celebration. He knew it was the pinnacle. Other teams have won trebles but 100 points is unique. One of the wildest celebrations in the away end as well. Even the Saints fans applauded. They knew they had witnessed history.
