Raheem Sterling

Probably the worst experience of a game with my son, don’t think we said a word to each other all the way home back to Scotland, 4 hours with diversions and closed roads.
We had our nine year old grandson with us.

He ended up in tears, after Raheem's goal was disallowed.

I watched nearly all of them live. He was very, very fortunate to be part of that team. Could never control a ball for a start!

In successive seasons he scored 23, 25, 31, 14 and 17 goals.

He wasn't perfect, but let's not do him down unnecessarily. We"re desperate for someone to do those kind of numbers other than Erling right now.

My son is 23 now and only really known success but he always refers to that game and it would be by far his biggest disappointment as a City fan, whereas he never mentions the Chelsea CL final as a disappointment, and is pretty accepting of last season and where we are now in the cycle.

Rubbish! If you need to criticise then it would be his finishing! However, if Uefa and their newly introduced VAR had not been corrupted and ruled out his injury time winner in that QF Champion leagues QF v Spurs, that goal would have been up there along side the Aguero 93:20!
The last goal I ever celebrated properly, it was the most emotion I've ever felt at the ball hitting the back of the net since 93.20.

Lots of players are not what was they were in they later years of their careers! Not everyone can be a Messi or Ronaldo!!
Sterling started to go downhill when Aguero left. I think he always played best alongside a proper striker, be it Aguero for us or Kane for England. Whenever he was the main striker or playing with a false nine, he was awful, probably because it changed the spaces he'd normally run into and he'd be more easily marked. Since leaving us, he's been to Chelsea and on loan at Arsenal, and in both cases, they've not really had a proper striker either.

Our 11th top goalscorer of all time with 131 goals.

Our 12th is Erling Haaland with 126.

Only player to score more than him in the last 40 odd or so years is Sergio Aguero.

Sterling deserves some respect.
That’s actually mad. I had no idea he’d scored that many goals for us.

The all or nothing centurion documentary shows just how good he was for us.

I’ll always have respect for the kid. Another who came, served us well and then went onto pastures new. He gets more kudos from me too for leaving the establishment to follow his desire for success

His worst season with 14 are figures our wide players could only have dreamt of since he left.
The correct decision in letting him go but the disrespect he gets is shocking.

I completely agree.

It was the right time for Raheem to move on, but the way his achievements for us are belittled by so many City fans is truly disgraceful.
