President Trump

Well, the job numbers came out and they were worse than anticipated be we are assured by Lutnick that previous holdovers from the Biden admin in the BLS are still in there and are out to get the President, while Trump assures us a year from now the numbers will be incredible.
Won’t he just sack the person who reported the numbers?
Then everything will be ok again.

What's your view on the Hong Kong situation? Are they being "looked after" or brutally controlled?

Countries with a refugee/migrant problem tend to be the best places to live. Countries that don't let their population leave tend to be the worse places to live. I don't see people risking their lives to get to China Russia N Korea.
You see, a tightly controlled population will seem good from the outside when visiting. But there is a human cost to that as well. You won't get a valid response from people there, as most don't know anything else.

The US may soon be a very safe place to live. All it takes is the President to put troops on the ground, and crime "literally" dies away. Same as peoples rights/freedoms...
I take that on board, but Chinas' policy is different to the U.S. in that they prefer to build bridges with other countries and do not try to force their culture and politics on whichever country they are doing deals with.
As an example you may have noticed better relations recently between China and India.
China is pro life, contrary to how western media portray it and its' policy is to look after the interests of the majority of its' population.
Diplomacy is the watchword, they do not care for violence.
Not a utopian society, there is no such thing, but sensible and with great positive energy.

I agree no country is perfect. I trust China more than than the US at the moment. They seem more stable. Taiwan may change that opinion in the near future though.

Take Cyprus for example.
On the outside it seems idyllic and a great place to holiday/live. Most people who visit would say it's great and hear no bad about the place. Most people who visit don't have a single problem. It has "great positive energy".

However, they couldn't be further from the truth. It is run by a mafia style police force. Corruption is rife.
So it only a great place until it isn't. People who have seen the other (ugly) side could give you a completely different picture.
Get robbed, and YOU get arrested for spreading false information. So you retract your statement to get released. That keeps the crime statics down. Pub and restaurant owners live in constant fear of being shut down if they don't pay bribes. Hotel owners have it worse.
Basically, the country is carefully managed to give a false impression of freedoms to attract visitors.
No doubt this applies to most of the Arab holiday spots as well. Look great but don't dig too deep...

four years of blatant lies and grifting unless his cankles kill him but when the streets are full of evicted homeless Americans who are starving they will pay ICE agents to round them up and get them deported - he has already said he is not averse to deporting US citizens

fuck me - and they wonder why they are disrespected ! Can you imagine a British PM hosting a T20 match on College Green or a French President holding a boules tournament on the lawns at Versailles?

I have just been out in Pasadena, looking for coffee. There is literally no one about. I was thinking does anyone work over here. Now I understand why.
I could not find coffee. But, I could get weed, beer and brass. America is nuts.
Errrrrrr . . . were you in Pasadena, Texas?

(My best friend grew up in South Pas — California — btw).

They do this inane, stupid shit to trigger people . . . and also to keep eyes averted from the terrible, awful shit they do. And their track record of incredible failures.
