Fixtures Calendar - 2025/26

Used to love those litte, Umbro, fixture booklets.

Bloody hell this stirred a long forgotten memory. When I was a kid in the late sixties/ early seventies there used to be a paperback book that used to come out before the start of every season. It had every single fixture in it for the football league ( The days before live tv so they rarely altered.) it also had a review of every first division club, squad etcetera and also a review of the previous season. I'm sure it was called the park drive book of football, or it may have been the rothmans book. I do know it was connected to a cigarette company and the best thing was it was free. You had to send in a certain number of cigarette packet fronts or something, possibly a postal order for postage but it was a bargain. Pre internet days and no real live tv coverage this book was much sought after every season, it really was a Godsend. For some reason I still can't remember how, my dad, who wasn't a smoker, had a contact somewhere who could get plenty of these packet fronts. I was very popular with my mates as we all got a book every season. A great memory.

It is a bit away, but does anyone if or when the time and date for the Liverpool at home game will be announced?
Spurs game stayed the same time etc. I am also sorted for Utd next week, and was lucky to get 1 ticket to the Liverpool game.

Looking to book my flight but don't wanna buy it too soon and loose money to Ryanair :)

The Pink did a little pink / black fixture thing of all the local clubs at beginning of the season

The News Of The World used to do an annual every year that was full of the seasons stats, squads etc.

I remember it. I had one in 1970. I think a relative smoked Rothies or Bensons or something.

Do you remember the World Cup (1970) head figurines that were given out with petrol ( Esso / Shell iirc)? I loved my Franny and The King collectibles.

But yes in those days fixtures were far easier to navigate. And the best way to see your team was attend the matches - we rarely featured MOTD, usually odd snippets on The Granada Big Match Sunday afternoon.

I miss those simple days, I miss being an early teen, but gawd knows these days who would want to be/ or be the parent of young kids/ teen with everything around them. I digress....!!

Yes I remember those figurines. Happy simple days as you say, glad I lived through that era. Subbuteo, chad valley football games, tonics, Harrington's, crombies, slazenger and football jumpers, Ben Sherman shirts, monkey boots and doc martins/brogues. Great stuff!

We are clearly of a similar vintage. I was unusual in our family, parents and bros not at all interested in footy, and I wasn't even a tomboy. Crombie coat with the red hanky, Ben Sherman, brogues, and purple two tone parallels. It was the fashion when I was 14 or so. Happy days when the biggest hassle in life was too much weekend homework getting in the way of a) socialising, b) attending a game and c) following the local rugby league team to far outposts in Yorkshire on a Sunday afternoon. Pure heaven when I think about it! :-).

Plus we had a decent team late 60s early 70s!! Little did I know it wouldn't always be that way....

How have we been stitched up so badly this week? Played the latest game of the weekend, play Thursday evening then again Sunday afternoon while Arsenal played a day earlier and then an early kick off today (Tuesday) before Sunday’s game.

It’s close to the opposite of what happened last season when Arsenal arguably got stitched up even more before playing us at the Etihad.
We played Inter at home on the Wednesday before the game on Sunday while Arsenal had to travel to Atalanta and play there on Thursday night.

The November fixtures are supposed to be out today ... let's hope they stick to the date!

3 home games ... 5 incl. CL games ... (after only a single game at home in October), and that's despite yet another international break in the middle of it.

Looks like they have missed the deadline yet again. 5pm been and gone.

The announcement dates are provisional only. It’s very rare for it to be announced on the date stated. Can often overrun by a week or 2.

Given we play in CL on Tuesday, it’s guaranteed that they will move the Newcastle game. Newcastle also play on the Tuesday but away. Maybe make it the 12.30 game so both teams have a little longer to prep for CL.
