City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Fuck meeeee….. You have to laugh when you see explanations like this. Of course, it’s all above board, we have rules that sometimes depending who the club is that we follow.

“For starters, the initial tribunal did not find the Premier League’s rules surrounding fair market value regulations were flawed. They only found that they had not complied with them.”

Yes just like Simon Stone is “employed” by BBC to report only on rags. Who do the BBC use (& the daily fail) to report solely on City I wonder???

The political journalists I work with view these sports client journalists/marketeers as a bit of a joke - a total embarrassment to their profession, but a necessary evil as they bring a lot of money in to the publications they’re nominally attached to - which helps balance the books and fund the proper journalism their editors actually want to be creating.

They’re generally the ones who got a 2:2 in their English degrees, and couldn’t get a proper job in journalism.

Now clearly there’s more than a whiff of snobbery to their views - but what I found more interesting was that the practice of client journalism is very widely and very well acknowledged as being a major component of modern sports ‘journalism’ by all, even at publications which the reporters themselves directly represent.

Herbert is one of the names I’ve heard mentioned a few times in these conversations.

Liverpool fans are convinced we only won the league when Everton didn't get a penalty, after Rodri got away with playing basketball at the Gladys Street end. Surprisingly Everton fans never mention it.
It wasn't a penalty. Under the rules that season the referees were instructed to determine that if the ball touched the sleeve (on a short sleeved shirt), it was not handball. The ball struck his sleeve so that's that!

The thing is you can never pick on one incident. There are 38 matches for each team and you can easily pick another incident to argue City should have won the league by a bigger margin.

When people come up with that sort of argument it's a psychological comfort blanket to deal with reality. Thumb sucking babies.

And cue the meltdown.

Stefan just dropped that city will have the biggest sponsorship deals ever seen in the UK.

Jordan sounded flustered and started babbling and Jim White completely changed the subject and are now talking about spurs.

Fuckin hook, line and sinker.

Beautiful.
Even with our success and the inflation in football those figures are huge absolutely huge !!! So wondering if there might be more campus stuff incoming so they can sponsor more buildings get more foot fall seeing the Etihad campus etc

We all know that Jim Shite is just playing the agitator role but my god he’s fucking dense at times, Jordan changed his view long ago on FFP and its spin offs although after lampooning Martin Samuel for calling it for what it was he’s never actually acknowledged he was right. It’s been a miserable week or so for the dickhead with his Bessie Levy being shown the door.

A miserable week? his whole existence is miserable thats why he hates us, the poundland robbie savage had it all and threw it away due to having the business acumen of a degenerate gambler yet he still believes that he should be doing deals with the likes of the top people at our club and sitting in the same boardrooms and in the same private clubs instead he is shilling for a crappy radio station while the people he wishes to be like laugh at him and it rankles him to his very bones.

That isn't the process. The APT1 decision spells it out. The methodology and relevant factors are in the rulebook and remain far more extensive than when first brought in. So the rules haven't weakened in this regard for City - blue underline is compared to original 2021 rules.View attachment 168934View attachment 168935View attachment 168936
Thanks Stefan. The process has evolved quite a lot since I first came across it. I haven’t followed it really, so you have brought me up to date.
I still don’t trust the PL too much.
