Chelsea hit with 74 FA charges for alleged rule breaches

From Chelsea's statement:-

"The Club’s ownership group completed its purchase of the club on 30 May 2022. During a thorough due diligence process prior to completion of the purchase, the ownership group became aware of potentially incomplete financial reporting concerning historical transactions and other potential breaches of FA rules. Immediately upon the completion of the purchase, the Club self-reported these matters to all relevant regulators, including The FA.

"The Club has demonstrated unprecedented transparency during this process, including by giving comprehensive access to the Club’s files and historical data. We will continue working collaboratively with The FA to conclude this matter as swiftly as possible."

Is the bit in blue a pop at us, a sort of "don't look here, look over there" scam?

Being suck arses won’t or shouldn’t make any difference if it does they changed the rules

We see the narrative already by the media suck arse fuckers!

We get treated like cheats Chelsea they bending over backwards to placate it and it’s like it not fair!

Certainly sounds that way.
I don’t give a fuck if they self reported themselves.
A fine would be a joke.
Surely this would be a sporting advantage and should warrant similar sanctions and uproar to our charges?

Thanks for the info, makes more sense to me now, I thought they hadn’t reported it until a few months after the deal had gone through, now I’m wondering how the accountants passed them as accurate during the abramovich ownership, wouldn’t you think they would and probably should have spotted discrepancies as well ;)

I don't see why Chelsea should be punished.
As the new owners were doing due diligence, before buying Chelsea, they saw the rule breaches. They immediately flagged it up.
The fact that Abrahmovitch got away with it for so long is what should be highlighted.
It shows how weak the PL and FA are. They are so frightened of upsetting the old guard they do ot act in a responsible, professional manner.

They are not fit for purpose.

Can't believe the FA have drummed up all these Chelsea charges up, donkeys years later .... you'd have though they'd had more than enough frustratingly watching the Premier League trying to press home City's charges!!

Now you've got me wondering who their accountants were?

Fucking state of this…

The orange **** thinks it should be a financial sanction cos Chelsea’s and City’s charges aren’t the same, then goes on to explain the charges only to end up with them being very similar.
As for the comments, no one cares they just want us done.
Remind me again why we’re treated differently?

Of course they should be punished. You can’t just break rules and expect wrongdoings to get written off when the ownership changes. That’s the buyer’s fault, they should ensure that they have a way to make a claim against the seller for any financial punishments received in this way or accept the risk.
