The Labour Government

I will defend Starmer on this he did say further and faster, it's not his fault we presumed he was talking about good things.
Well he hadn’t been following the news 20 odd years ago because most people knew what he was like then, he’s sleazy should never have been appointed.

Not sure calling Mandelson a dodgy **** and a sleazeball is defending him exactly, but still who knows, maybe it’s a sign of affection in your world of make believe and rainbow unicorns.

No idea what running a business has to do with anything either. That’s the sort of rationale that got someone like Trump elected. “0h look he bankrupted a casino, we simply must put this man in charge of the economy and have him resurrect economic policies from the Great Depression!”

I can only point out the world we live in and its realities. Mandelson got the US gig because the US elected a convicted felon and sex pest. You obviously find this upsetting, but what can I say? Life sucks.

Anyway, have a good cry and fix yourself some ice cream, it will make you feel better.
And another thing, running a business is a form of charity. It employs people, makes actual things to sell, rears things to sell, pays taxes. Business, in whatever form, has made the world go round for absolutely ages. It has ups and downs, profits and losses. The people who start and try to run a business give their whole self to employ other people who can then raise a nd educate a family. Starmer and his crew have done nothing like this. I would call them leeches, but that’s too kind.

Its all bobbing along nicely for the Labour Party.

Will be the same for Reform, Tories, Greens or whoever is in power , bad appointments, scandals and a tidel wave of scrutiny and abuse. This is not excusing Labour honestly, this is just the reality, no party can please or do well, not in today’s world - impossible.

Fortunately Prince Andrew is available for Starmer and his Bluemoon fanbase. Just until Trump stops being Trump mind. An appointment made with a heavy heart.
Tough times and only appointments of those who like em young can get us out of it.

It isn’t. Stay out of the sun, it’s melting your brain.

Yes no govt in the UK or the world ever managed to not employ the bestie of a child abuser.
Why did God give them the unique ability to be problem solvers.

I'm supporting Lucy Powell for Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
a) because she is a Manchester Politician, born and raised/educated in Manchester
b) and even more important... she is a MANCHESTER CITY supporter!!
c) we need more Northern MPs in the top jobs.

I don't agree with everything that Burnham says but I do agree with his statement about London bias.
Infinitely preferable to Phillipson that is for sure.

Bring back Churchill.

Maybe but it would be interesting to see how someone with a backbone and morals got on. Obviously they’d never get in to start with.

I presume somewhere right now in somewhere like tufton st there's a bunch of right wing nut jobs with their heads in their hands because last year they paid large sums of money to third parties who would undermine Starmer on their behalf should the need arise and they now realise that he can do it all by himself and they could have saved the money for sniffing coke off strippers or something.

They were brought in before the election?

They couldn't speed up say the post office.money, they couldn't stop shit in water, they couldn't call out genocide by Israel? They couldn't not evade tax. Tory policy made all these things inevitable. No responsibility whatsoever.

You do need a reply because Labour brought in and or/changed their minds on the things on that list , these are policies or attempted policies and speaking up on what's right.

I don't need a reply on this I'm just stating the lack of facts within your post. Surprised at you tbh you're not usually a Starmer at all costs defender.
No. You gave a list of collateral damage all supposedly as a result of keeping Trump onside. I merely pointed out that your list was already in play well before they became collateral as you put it. Yes, decisions on stuff may have been delayed but frankly I'd rather they get them right and take some time to do so. The country was subjected to the "boiling frog" analogy for 14 years. It takes more than 14 months to get it sorted properly.

I'm all for calling things out, but imagine the fall out if, say, we openly accuse Israel of genocide(even if that's what many at higher levels believe it to be). Both the domestic and international fall out would be massive. Now if we were still part of a Union where 28 countries came out and said that, well maybe that would work, but we're not and unfortunately much of the future for the UK now depends on us forging alliances with less than savoury regimes.

I’m no big fan of the PM because of Gaza, Starmer won’t die on this particular hill unlike the conservatives who clung to power for weeks before acting, Johnson and Truss had to be dragged out the door.
Starmer has acted swiftly to quell the accusations and fired Rayner and Mandelson within days of finding out their true colours. So we move on to the next media storm.

Nah, they knew and hired him anyway.
