Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Nobody stays for ever EB, and every day (and poor performance) brings the inevitable departure closer.

We're reaching a period that could determine just how much longer Pep is likely to be at the helm. It's been a wonderful ride, but we've been worked out and caught up by too many coaches and teams to think that Pep's tactics/system are good enough for the future.
Aha, so he isn't going just yet? It's just speculation. Sorry I've been a bit out of the loop this week. Thank @Lavinda Past I thought I'd missed something. Stupid old woman that I am. :-)

We are too nice across the entire pitch and have been for a few seasons now . Could do with a Tony Adams at the back and a David batty patrolling midfield and a Duncan Ferguson throwing his weight around upfront . First 15 mins of a game throw abit of spite in there and crunch them like ferdy used to do .
As a Canadian, this sounds like a hockey roster to me. I’m all for it! Wouldn’t mind bringing NDJ back out of retirement for some reckless challenges

Everything has a time and an end. Only those who understand the importance of change and move away from arrogance and stubbornness can adapt and continue. Currently, Pep, the legendary and historic coach, seems to continue making the same mistakes and expecting different results. Two losses out of three matches, against average teams and in the same manner we saw last season, are worrying. I love Pep and I hope he succeeds, but wishes are not enough.
This is the time for Pep to show whether he has the tools and ability to understand the current dynamics and interact with them in a positive way to get City back on the right path, regain its character and strength, and return to being the most entertaining team in the league. Time is running out, and Pep must act wisely and quickly, avoiding arrogance and stubbornness for the sake of the team.

Pep has always been helped by having the better players…..if you were to choose a combined 11 with any opponent, the team would always consist of about 7 or more City players……it’s not the case now.

Just watching Arsenal today….not sure any of our squad would get into their team which unfortunately shows how far we have fallen.

Peps high line tactics are obviously not helping but the quality available to him is nowhere near the level required.

We still should be beating the likes of Spurs, Brighton and United though !

I’d like to know the last match we won under Pep when not favourites. Yes i know we’re favourites most weeks but the record against good teams is now pretty terrible over the last couple of years

What.

Maybe we should go with times and accept that our defenders are definitely not better than theirs. There‘s no better duo than Saliba and Gabriel out there. Can only see Gvardiol making it at LB. Still Donnarumma, Haaland and Rodri if He regains his form should make the Arsenal squad.

Also the fact that we ain’t the best team anymore. Pep should look for a system that works despite having less quality. It’s a coaches job. It’s not always the job of everyone to do this and that. Pep is at fault too with his small squad design and the refusal of certain upgrades on certain positions for years.

Reijnders & Gvardiol & Marmoush & Ait Nouri & Cherki would also get in for me - not sure who that leaves, probably only Gabriel & Rice or maybe Saka.
Too early to make a judgement on Cherki, but he looks a great talent….Who would you leave out of Arsenals starting line up for those you have mentioned.

I have high hopes for Reijnders but not for Zubimendi ( they even had Rice on the bench) and rate Gvardiol but again he doesn’t get into Arsenals 11 today.

Maybe an inform Foden and a fit Rodri but instead of who in the Arsenal starting 11 today ?

I hope you are right about about Donnarumma but too early to say.
foden instead of imo the overrated little blond lad , and rodri over any midfielder arsenal player today, dont know the team arsenal put out , didnt watch the game .

as for Donnarumma, hes not an unknown, there aren't many better keepers in world football
