Might Jack Grealish play for City again?

it's the 've issue; Should've, could've, would've is now should of, could of, would of.

And it's growing. Just like with 'you're joking me'. It's "you're joking" or "you're kidding me" How do you "joke" someone?
by putting loose instead of lose at the end of the post :)

That is the one that gets me the most, how a football fan can't spell lose, especially with our long history from the 80's until Mankers.

People hear the 'oo' in 'lose' and think that's how it's spelt.

once the new season new stadium bounce is over everton will revert to what they are - a dog shit team playing kick and rush english football from the 90s.

Grealish will be fine for Everton , but not in a million years will they pay the 25-30m city will want nor get anywhere near his wages. he is now danny welbeck.

No. He's pissed his chance at a top club away. He'll regret it when he gets older and reflects on his career.

Lovely bloke but not got the mentality to play at a club that wants to compete at the highest level.
He has a bank full of cash and a hoard of medals, i doubt he will regret much tbh

It isn't that he isn't good enough it's just that playing for city is so intensive because you have to get results, it's even worse when you come here on a big fee. The rest of the team struggled last year for similar reasons and nobody can just can't be expected to keep hitting 90pts+ every year.

At Everton he can play a bit more freely because he's a key player and they aren't going to be fighting for every win and titles every week. He might be back but he's won everything now and he might not want to slog it out every week or sit on the bench for rotation because results are the only thing that matters.

Keep up this form and if Everton don’t pay the fee someone else will.

If we sell him north of 20m we will make a profit, I suspect we will.

Us buying another wide player is more likely than Grealish coming back.

I'd be surprised if Grealish maintained that form GA wise. If he finished the season with 15 goal involvements in the league, that would be a great season for him. Anything over 18 GA would be a huge surprise and would likely guarantee him a squad place for the WC in the summer.

I've always been a fan of Grealish and am glad he has started well at Everton, but I don't see him coming back and playing for us. Given that we're trying to build a new team, I think Jack coming back in would be a backward step in trying to achieve that.... but he's a great player and has star quality when he turns it on, so you can never say never!

Only as a replacement of Bernie when he runs out his contract end of this season. Even then chances are slim. Wasnt he bought in 2021 to replace Bernie?

I think someone like Reigan Heskey or Ryan McAidoo are more likely to feature than Jack for us next season.

Grealish joined Everton on loan this Summer and was voted the best Premier League player in August. He has 4 assists to his name. Everton drew 0-0 vs Villa yesterday but the MOTD highlights showed that he was very effective and created some big chances for Everton.

He seems to me to be playing in exactly the same role at Everton as he played at City but he is playing much better. Why is this? I can think of some reasons:

1) He knows this is a final chance and the move is a mental reset for him. He's trying harder.

2) He is enjoying positive comment from media and fans. Football journalists will speak of Grealish at Everton a lot more positively than they did when he was at City.

3) He is playing regularly for the first time in a while

4) The tactics of the opposing sides he's faced for Everton might be more progressive than what we would typically experience playing for City. I think this is true but unlikely to explain his pick-up in form.

5) It might be a blip.

6) Moyes has managed him better than Pep. Seems unlikely.

7) Everton games are not the Cup Finals that City face every week.

I don't think City can recall Grealish in Jan. but it will depend on the loan agreement.

Would you want Jack back? I would based on his current form. His record: goals and assists will be important but I think Jack is also one of those players who make teams and his team mates play better. His passes are usually perfectly weighted. I think a lot of City fans wrote Jack off and already he's proved this viewpoint wrong. I wondered if he still had it in him to be a top player. We need to see more, but it looks good so far. I can see him back in a City shirt again.
The main reason he’s playing well is that he’s got space to run into, funnily enough with our change in style, he’d probably have fared much better this season. Too little too late for him though I think, ship has sailed.

Can't see it but hopefully he will keep playing well and his stock will rise and clubs can start a bidding war

Everton will take the piss when it comes to making it a permanent deal and they'll know City won't be in a position to demand a big fee unless other clubs are sniffing

Silly myth?

Guardiola's risk averse 'possession at all costs' tactics sucked the life out of Jack Grealish They still do in respect of supply to Erling Haaland.

Retain and recycle... the last few seasons have had some of the most boring 'training session' football I've ever seen, trophies or not. All thanks to Guardiola's obsessive belief in his system.

Jack's got a chance to get his career back on track, and I for one would love to see him rub Pep's nose in it if/when he does. Obviously, Jack wouldn't do that, because he's a decent bloke.

Sounds like the only one with an obsessive belief here is you bud.
