I never thought I’d say this didn’t think he’d play against us, but Napoli’s danger man is Kevin, he’s instrumental in the build up for Napoli, Conte has given him a free role like he did with Pirlo, he makes them tick. We just have to stop Kevin from pulling the strings.

This will be a very hard game. However if we can play as I know we are capable then a win is acheivable. If that happens and we can carry that form into the Arsenal game then the top 4 beckons.

2-1 city

Same team as today but I imagine pep will put savinho in for doku. Lewis and Nunes will play knowing him lol

Let's not get to carried away with a good performance like we did after the Wolves game. Both Wolves & Rags are shite
That said I fancy a 2-0 win Thursday night against a decent side with KING KEV in great form. CTID

A nice win against Napoli sets us up nicely for the test away to Arsenal.

I am all in for this counter attacking style Pep adopted today. It suits our player profile far better than all out possession. Those days have gone where we can expect to dominate teams, we just don't have that type of player anymore.

I thought we looked a bit like Inter Milan of the last few years today.
We confused United by letting them have the ball in the last 20 minutes. They only know how to counter attack. We learned from our mistakes last season.

I think the biggest decision is Trafford or Donnarumma. We all know what the right answer is. But assuming he goes with Donnarumma. We may as well look for a loan for Trafford in January

Donnarumma

Nunes
Dias
Gvardiol
Ake

Rodri
Reijnders

Silva
Foden
Doku

Haaland

Another convincing win..then despite all logic I might start believing we're back in this title race
I can see Trafford playing this one. I think Trafford will still get 15-20 games this season to keep him sweet/put him in the shop window if he does want a move next summer

4 days between the derby and Napoli: Rodri can play 45-60 minutes vs Napoli (or just the 2nd half) and 60 minutes at Arsenal.

Fewer than 68 hours, to be more precise. That's why I think Pep will make some changes vs Napoli.
He knows how important the CL is to the club and how much an early exit cost it last year. He also knows that home wins are not only required to get you up the table, but an away win against a Pot 1 club would elevate the Italian Champions in this format.

There might be a change or two, but tbh we didn’t have much on the bench today to give the starters much respite!

Stones and Marmoush might give us some relief, but beyond that? Maybe Rico doing his inverted RB gig?

It’s going to be a matter of warm down, massage, day off, light tactical walk through, play, then lather, rinse, repeat!

Hope Stones is available, as Marmoush isn't.

Don't know much about Napoli, but can see Nunes/Rico at RB, Gonzalez in midfield, and Bobb or Foden on the right to accommodate Gonzalez.

I doubt O'Reilly will start at Arsenal (Gvardiol or Ake at LB), so he is likely to start vs Napoli.

Good possibilities all.

(I believe Gonzales has 1 Z, 1 S)

Donnaruma

Nunes
Stones( if fit)
Ake
Oreilly

Gonzalez
Bernardo
Rejinders

Bobb
Haaland
Savio

Get some rested up for arsenal game on the bench if we need them.

After yesterday, we should be expecting to kick on, continue that standard and even if we don’t put Napoli to the sword, at least take the fight to them and give them a game.

However, this is City, so in finest pessimistic “seen it all before” Blue tradition I will confidently predict an insipid 2-0 loss with two of De Bruyne, Hojlund and McTominay to score.
