Why the fuck are we playing on a Thursday ??? Thought that was exclusively reserved for rubbish teams who didn’t really deserve to be in Europe and played in various joke competitions
Newcastle play Barcelona as well, so that definitely isn't the case.

Napoli with Kev pulling the strings will be tough opponents that's for sure and Pep will play his strongest team. It will be interesting to see if Rodri starts tomorrow, bearing in mind we have Arsenal on Sunday as I don't think he can play 3 games in a week yet.

Let's hope Foden, Haaland and Doku can continue to impress like they did on Sunday. If they can replicate the same form then we have a decent chance of getting a win under our belt.

In regards to your last paragraph United are no yard stick to go by…..

Do not think anybody underrates Napoli. They are simply a very strong team, like easily would rate them around top 10 world. At this level you could loose any game, even during great season.

My optimism about the season, including the match against Napoli, comes more from overall trends than from the rather ambiguous performance against United:
- few players already looks much better (Haaland, Foden, Khusanov, Doku),
- Rodri is starting to play quite a lot of minutes regularly. Sure, he’s far from his best form, but it’s still an early stage. It should only get better,
- new players are really promising, pretty much all of them showed glimpses of top quality: Marmoush, Khusanov, Cherki, Reijnders, Ait Nouri, Nico too is useful,
- Bobb is back, still way to go, but he has magical feet and this kind of special quality,
- Donnarumma is not only promising, but looks like a guarantee for few additional points and wins.

Nunes might slot back in to right back to guarantee Khusanovs fitness for the weekend, and Ake to left back.

Reijnders and Rodri again.
Agree. I think Nunes and Ake get the game tomorrow. I'm not sure about Rodri. Perhaps we see Nico and Reijnders. I also think Savinho should get the start tomorrow.

Rodri was piss poor against the Rags.
