Memorial for Ricky Hatton

I would like to think so, it’s the least he deserves as a loyal blue.

Not for me there have been far more worthy City people who don't have anything, Tony Book player, coach, manager, scout, caretaker etc, for instance.

More importantly there are the fans who have spent a large proportion of their income following the club home and away to every game

What would be good is a memorial dedicated to the fans where relatives could get a plaque added for their love ones who have passed maybe adjacent to the memorial garden?

As much as I loved Ricky, it's a no from me for memorials at the stadium for celebrity fans.
It's potentially a thin edge of a wedge that could lead to all sorts of unnecessary debates and disagreements in the future over who is and isn't worthy of that accolade.
Commemorate him at the Arena as others have suggested.

He could actually be the first fan, a representative if you will?

Isn't that what we had on the wall in the tunnel at one point?
We had one there for my Dad. No idea what happened to that.

Yeah it was removed for the Tunnel Club, apparently the T&C had. proviso that it wasnt guaranteed to remain for ever. Then had the farce of the City Circle(?) which took ages and now needs a good clean and refurb located at the end of the CFA bridge Everton had do a great job of one side of the new stadium being Everton way which fans could buy a inscribed tile they have also included their legends

I suggested this in the other thread, a suite in the new hotel named after him would be a nice tribute.

Given that Hatton wasn't associated with city beyond being a fan it doesn't seem appropriate to have something within the stadium for him but that hotel i assume will be used for allsorts outside of football so it feels more fitting.

Can see the reasons behind both yes and no. Similar to Oasis though he made being a blue during shit years cool. He was loud and proud when there was little to be proud of on the pitch. Depends what the OP was thinking. Something small I would be for though but as others have pointed out, the M.E.N might be a better place.

Should be a Ricky statue in the city centre, he helped lift the whole city’s profile! May be in Cathedral Gardens, so it’s near the arena & the National Football Museum!
