The Rise of the Far Right

So no inclusion for her then.

Can you help me out here, can you give me a list of the types of folk we're not including in this inclusive Britain?
whilst I have enjoyed reading some of your rambles and they've given me food for thought highlighting a brown face amongst a see of white and saying 'look this proves my point' is not your finest hour

or is your suggestion that Saturdays parade was a celebration of the success of multicultural Britain?

I know
Feel free to post a topic you want to know about and I'll give you all 4 default positions
I'm sure I could have opinions that could possibly fall into all 4.

Free healthcare and social housing yes from me . Left or far left ?

I hate the government and all politician's. Right or far right ?

Whats the difference between the right and far right ?
And the left and far left?

I assume nobody actually knows
It’s not exactly linear and there can be crossovers, but there are differences between a 2010 era centre-right Liberal Democrat like Clegg, a One-nation Conservative, a traditional Conservative, a Thatcherite, a right-wing Populist… all of which are right-wing but none of them are far-right.

Much like there are differences between being a Liberal, a Blairite, a Social Democrat, a Democratic Socialist… all of which are left-wing but none of them are far-left.

Only a fraction of anything that has a finger pointed at it and accused of being ‘far-right’, is actually far-right.

I believe in the nationalisation of all public services and want to work towards a much greener and cleaner world, but I am anti-immigration and like to see the nation being patriotic.

Wouldn't that be people who opted out of SERPS, so would have been making larger contributions to a private pension?
No.
The new rate only began in 2016.
It was a cliff edge change, no feeding in.
Anyone retiring before then gets the old rate
And only half on the new rate get the full amount, due to a variety of things like not enough years paid in or opting out, which will affect pre 2016 contributions.

As I haven't come to any conclusion about that march I don't have a point, beyond a mild disgust for those so blind they cannot see. Actually, that's not true, it's more than disgust it's a complete revulsion for those who deliberately poke their eyes out in order not to see.

I suppose my point, if I have any at all, is that for the most part a far right wanker has to put very little effort into being a moron, but the manufactured stupidity of the left takes real effort, it truly is something to behold.

This describes perfectly how you come across to me.

The march was organised by a violent criminal racist, was financed and addressed by a foreign oligarch urging the violent overthrow of UK democracy, and by all accounts featured highly offensive and racist chants throughout, together with threats and violence to police and various others.

Yet you seem determined not to see this for what it is: support for racism.

Though I don't feel the revulsion for you that you express for me.

Yeah! Something should be done!

hard to know what to suggest and where we go, disinformation and hatred is off the scale since Musk took over that platform and we're starting to see the real dangers spill out, any restrictions on social media and it will be a huge storm for those protecting 'freedom of speech'. It's a dark period for sure.

Is this a Clarkie?

To be fair to Fumble I don't think he's trying to defend racists I think he is just saying you can't dismiss everyone marching by simply saying they are racist.

He's also said that not every culture is the same and having little enclaves of cultures not engaging with each other is not a good thing. To combat this he has suggested a clearer understanding of a British culture is what is needed as a shared experience for all indigenous people and immigrants. The denigration of British culture (whatever it is) is not a good thing so rather than be dismissive of those looking to define we should express it proudly otherwise you let the racists define it. As they are the only ones talking about it and saying there even is a British culture we should be positive about

To say it's British to welcome immigrants is true but they have come to Britain not just a little enclave of their own culture

It's not personal it's just politics.

Here’s the canonical list of 20 signs of fascism, drawn from Umberto Eco’s Ur-Fascism (1995), Robert Paxton’s Anatomy of Fascism (2004), Jason Stanley’s How Fascism Works (2018), and other scholars. These aren’t a “checklist” where every leader must tick all boxes — but they are the recurring traits fascist regimes and leaders share:
20 SIGNS OF A FASCIST LEADER
1. Cult of Tradition / Glorious Past
Mythologizing a “golden age” that must be restored.
2. Rejection of Modernism / Liberalism
Framing pluralism, feminism, and democracy as decay or weakness.
3. Action for Action’s Sake
Valuing impulsive, dramatic gestures over deliberation or reason.
4. Disagreement = Treason
Branding dissenters as enemies of the nation.
5. Fear of Difference
Racism, xenophobia, homophobia — scapegoating outsiders.
6. Appeal to a Frustrated Middle Class
Rallying downwardly mobile groups with nationalist anger.
7. Obsession with Conspiracy
Belief in shadowy plots undermining the nation.
8. Enemy as Both Weak and Strong
Opponents are portrayed as pathetic and existentially dangerous.
9. Pacifism = Treason
Denouncing peace as cowardice; glorifying war and military action.
10. Contempt for the Weak
Mocking or discarding the vulnerable and marginalized.
11. Cult of Heroism / Death
Turning violence, sacrifice, and martyrdom into sacred ideals.
12. Machismo
Exalting strength, virility, and domination (often misogynistic).
13. Selective Populism
Claiming only one leader speaks for “the people.”
14. Newspeak
Simplified slogans and repetitive catchphrases that shut down thought.
15. Disdain for Human Rights
Treating individual rights as expendable for the “greater good.”
16. Control of Media / Propaganda
Flooding the public sphere with lies, censorship, or state-aligned outlets.
17. Rigged Elections / Anti-Democracy
Undermining or abolishing free, fair elections to stay in power.
18. Fusion of Religion and Nationalism
Presenting the nation’s destiny as divinely ordained.
19. Glorification of Violence
Violence framed as cleansing, purifying, or patriotic.
20. Permanent State of Crisis
Maintaining constant fear: only the leader can avert catastrophe.
Together, these traits define fascism as a political style: authoritarian, nationalist, exclusionary, and anti-democratic.
