Allegedly they pass them on to "partners" not sure that makes them "authorised" - maybe in City's eyes - seems a convenient loophole if so.

Probably hence the no comment.

Jesus. This is getting tiresome. Yes, they use resellers who are authorised to sell those tickets. It's not a great look as those authorised resellers have less control over who buys the tickets than the club would if they sold them direct.

But that's very different from alleging the club are engaging in a criminal conspiracy by passing them onto sites that are outside the UK and aren't authorised. They aren't doing this and their 'no comment' isn't a tacit admission that they are.

It’ll be a mix of: the members being touts, as there’ll be touts at every club who are some of the top points earners who signed up at the beginning of points initiatives starting up and have bought tickets throughout and have probably never been to a game (we’ve all met touts at games and gigs over the years, in the last decade or so they’ve had the internet to hide their work); the club putting them on their ticket partner sites themselves (even if they claim they don’t do that); and the odd fans who do the same for a quick quid uptick (which I think is less likely than the other two).

I don't know as I'm not running a ticket touting operation, but you're assuming the member isn't the tout in the first place. These people will do the same as the people who tout concert tickets, and have multiple accounts in individual names. As you can generally only buy one ticket per account, my guess is that the tout gives the ultimate buyer access to the account then changes the password. Which is what's been suggested by some on here to transfer tickets to others,

But I'd be surprised if the club hasn't bought tickets off these sites and has found how they do get there.

It's a loophole and it's convenient.
You're right - it's not a great look and it means we're infiltrated by opposing fans and those who don't really follow us. Club should be doing more to get real fans in - this system is quite rightly open to criticism of greed.

I'm specifically referring to Robstas post, he said there was someone who had bought off an unauthorised tout next to him, he had spoke to City and they said that a fan had bought it and sold it to the touts. This isn't possible, tickets go directly to the matchday passes, there is no link and nothing a member can send on to a tout to sell. I can't see how what the club say is true. Hence why I asked how it was possible.

Why do touts buy tickets at lower mid table clubs who don't sell out most of the time?

The tout could well have had a paid membership so the buyer could transfer it to them. Or had access to the buyer's account. Clearly they had some way of doing it.

But that's not possible that's my point.

A Cityzen members ticket goes directly into their pass / wallet. There is no way for a member to transfer their ticket, its not possible so for city to say this happened simply reeks.

But yet nobody can give a valid reason of how Citys story checks out?

Theres nothing ridiculous about believing city are passing on the tickets as that appears the only logical answer. Particularly when citys response is to make up a scenario which is literally impossible.

If it looks like shit, smell like shit, its generally shit.

Not many of those clubs don’t get close to selling out these days: Fulham Brentford Bournemouth United Leeds Palace Brighton Everton Forest all get good crowds to their capacity.

But there are always away fans who travel without a ticket who’d buy one if available. Sometimes home fans too.

Going back to when we used to average 40k under Pearce, there’d always be touts up ANR.

1. Robsta's son puts his ST seat up on the exchange

2. A tout who has multiple accounts already setup uses a bot to buy the ticket(s) and advertises it.

3. Someone buys it at a marked up price and gets sent the login details for the touts account that bought the seat. They download the app and login.

4. Once the ticket is used, the password is changed on the account.

5. Rinse & repeat.

If the above is possible and as simple as it appears then it would explain City's seemingly draconian restriction on how many times a ST can be downloaded. They'll be collating statistics and looking to shut this route down.

The members pass is on the members phone, you can't login and keep downloading it to different phones, this isn't touts that stand outside the ground this is massive companies with millions. There's other examples where blues have been specifically told the end buyer was sent a link to download the ticket.

When we were getting less than 20k in the 80’s there would be touts outside MR and people buying them despite the fact for many games it was pay on the gate. And we all know how they got their hands on the tickets. How do you think the rags all got seats in North Stand together at the 5-1 drubbing. Straight from the ticket office into the hands of the touts. Ticket office is still creaming off tickets to this day, but the club won’t investigate themselves.
