I find it a bit odd how some of you seem to not rate your team. Dissecting it - the goal you scored (fabulous play from Haaland initially to win the ball and slip in Reijnders against the best defence in the league) - who else scores that in the PL? Maybe the Dippers.

Then to pretty comfortably hold the back line together and blunt Arsenal's attack for most of the match - who else does that in the PL? At a push Newcastle might - Liverpool would have conceded at least 2.

So overall it was a really good, 'needs must' performance and Arsenal would have won that match against virtually every other team in the PL with that performance. I'm pleased with a point and I don't think the league is close to being done - not with our run in and Liverpool usually shitting the bed once April comes. And it isn't done for you either- we all know what happens to City once March rolls in. Well at least I do, some of your fans would do well to remember what City at the end of the season is like. Even last season your finish was better than any other team.

As far from the league goes for both Arsenal and City it’s far from over. Think back twelve months ago and City were winning games far from convincingly similar to what Liverpool were doing. Rodri got injured and then the horror show followed of getting smashed to pieces by all opponents from Halloween onwards.

I’m not saying Liverpool will experience a loss of form as extreme as what City did nearly 12 months ago. But there’s still potential for dropped points which teams behind them can capitalise on.

I am proud of the lads to work so hard and play a system that’s never been in their dna.

This could be helpful come cup games.
It shows Pep can be more pragmatic without the ball.

I was never confident in a win but we were so close. I think the last 2subs weren’t entirely correct.

The biggest errors in my opinion:
1. Haaland not passing to Foden for the tap in. 0-2 and we’ve destroyed all hope.
2. Savio and Tijanji no going to the corner in the 92 min.
3. Donnarumma coming off his line for no reason.

Pep taking out Khusonov makes no sense to me. If he’s still there his pace take cares of every issue. Especially when Dias won 1/5 aerial duels.
Nunes sub makes no sense since we didn’t attack. He was great but you asked him to do everything Khusonov can do to a better degree.
Taking off Foden was understandable but Haaland was the sub that was incorrect. He was our biggest outlet and the reason we won 2nd balls. He also was our reason why they never scored from corners. Bernardo should’ve been taken out instead.

We have to win 5-6 games in a row.

The team and tactics were impressive. They almost worked !

Tijanji should skip the next game. He’s really struggled since his first game. Great assist but my goodness the Serie A truly showed me how slow that league is. I still have faith in him

I think Nico G should come back to the side idc if Rodri is the one that plays higher up i just think Tijanji needs time off. Bobb at RW is needed.

We can defend and be very disciplined.

Just thinking whether I feel happier today than last Monday; it's a very, very close thing.

Imho, it was great to see us playing to a new strength yesterday - we haven't got the squad/fitness to go out all guns blazing at the Emirates, and whilst we've never been a team to contain others defensively, we managed it for the most part yesterday. A few more minutes and we've have been into the boos and "Arteta out".

Adding on that thing of power and beauty from the match - Haaland's goal - and some very solid defending, there was a lot of good to take away from yesterday's game. Watching Big Earl turn Gabrielle into Harry Maguire was worth the admission money on its own.

I think we can go positively into the rest of the season. Less so for Arsenal.

Did we defend fantastically or did we just defend deep and with numbers?
Listen if you're happy with that, then I respect that. I just believe that we should be better than that. I'm just asking myself, would Real Madrid or Barcelona or Liverpool do that?

It just seems odd to me that Pep would pick this moment to dramatically change his philosophy. For someone who believes, to his very core, that to cede possession so easily is almost a sin. Why now? Why not last year when it probably warranted it more.

Real & Liverpool have regularly done the same to us in the past.

Mate, we're in a transitional season where we're rebuilding from the back to attack & also trying to rebuild our confidence, & reinstill our team spirit & rediscover that iron will to win.

What we're having to do is akin to changing your footwear midway through a marathon. Your opponents aren't going to stop performing & wait whilst you get up to speed. They'll take every advantage they can.

Whilst we're busy getting up to speed, we're gonna have to be more pragmatic during higher grade matches. Our fans need to realise that in our circumstances, points are more important than performance accolades.

I'd rather we did what we did yesterday & leave the Emirates with a point, than receive all the performance accolades with fuck all to show for it. Based on what I saw, our time of dominating games against elite teams will come again. When, I couldn't say, but the last 8 days has shown promising signs.

ArseAnal fuckin knew it too! Odegaard apart, they were at full strength & were properly rested. City were neither, & as the home side the onus was on them to make their advantage count & they couldn't.

If they couldn't beat us at home under those circumstances, it's the Tarquins who'll be realising their current advantage over City could be very short-lived indeed.

Take points off your rivals away from home and beat them at home, whilst ultimately I was disappointed us not holding on I would’ve took the point before kick off after the week we had. I did feel we should’ve left one up top later just give us an outlet and something for them to think about. They say Liverpool haven’t hit second gear yet but I feel we’ve got a lot more to come as well, stay within 6 points by the time we meet them in November I’ll be happy

I was in the club level home end yesterday, their supporters really are a deluded bunch
3 Arab ladies sat next to me, arrived 20 mins late and spent the whole game taking selfies and photos, the curse of modern day football

Was happy with a point pre game and post game
They ran and ran, worked very hard but looked 1% off it in terms of being jaded

We were winning games this time last year and then went on a bad run, scousers could do the same easily so happy with the point , effort and performance

The really pleasing thing for me is the capitulations that kept happening last season are a thing of the past.

A brilliant week, definitely, but probably too soon to say that?

The three matches were not really representative of the majority of PL games ahead.

A useless United team; strong Napoli team but with 10 men; very strong Arsenal team at their place.

When we next play Brighton, or Bournemouth, Palace etc where we feel that we have an edge, that's when we'll see how we manage to balance the middle ground between the Napoli and Arsenal performances - strong defence whilst still maintaining a steady threat.

That was comfortably the best week in 2025, though, with the most significant changes and flexibility in approach.

He’s not lazy, I blame Pep for bringing him on, let’s be honest here iv read posts on BM stating Doku as being lazy only 4 wks ago, he should be playing 90 mins against Huddersfield so let’s see how he does, for me there’s no lazy footballers at City or any other club.
