Given how little some have played and certainly not together, the first half will almost certainly lack fluidity and be littered with mistakes. Just have to accept this beforehand give them time to gel. Getting through one nil is acceptable if those starting finish the game unscathed, and any individual stand outs are an added bonus.

Although we should be resting all of the 1st eleven that have played the last 3 games, I fear that Pep will put out a strong side with Dias, Doku, Reijnders & Haaland all starting

Clean sheet victory
No injuries
No cards
Minutes for returning players & CFA lads.
Rest for most of the A squad.
Rotation again for Burnley.

I just hope the starting eleven know each other and look as though they trained together for some time. I've watched too many cup games where we've gone in 'undercooked' and ended with an omelet as the night's prize. And "Uddersfield ain't all that far from 'Alifax!

I think winning the League Cup would be a huge boost for the squad on their way back to the top. We've got a lot of young players who haven't been a key part of our success so this would help give them the confidence and desire to win trophies.

However, with the injuries we've had/got we have to rotate for this game. Ideally those that have started the last three don't play a minute.

There's a good 8 players who can come in - Trafford, Nunes, Stones, Ake, Rico, Nico, Bobb, Savinho but it's probably missing that bit of leadership and experience in the middle of the park. I'd fill up the rest with academy players personally as we need to continue giving them the hope they can make it with us. Mukasa, Mfuni, McAidoo, Oboavwoduo.

I always find it exciting to watch the next crop play for City and it's a great chance for them to prove themselves.

A game to rotate the squad for those who need a game, plus a sprinkling of the kids.

Trafford, Nunes, Ake, Stones, Rico, Gonzalez, Bobb and Savinho should all be starting. Mukasa and Mfuni should also be in the squad.

I wouldnt toss this off as its a pot we can win with our deep squad when people are fit, but as an aside I wouldnt want Donnarumma, Dias, Gvardiol, Rodri, Foden or Haaland anywhere near the pitch.

Tbh Id sit Rodri on the bench for Burnley as well and save him for the CL and Brentford Away before the international break. He looked knackered on sunday.

This game will prioritise match fitness and tactical awareness for the greater squad. The result will hopefully fall out of that, but dont be surprised if it's a scrappy 3-2 win.....quite looking forward to it.

An interesting one.
We may have to go stronger than people think.
We might not be good enough to win the league or champions league.
So that leaves.......

Oboavwoduo

Savinho--------Musaka----------Bobb

N.González-----Lewis

Aké------Mfuni----Stones-----Nunes

Trafford

When he was chanting to the crowd, Oboavwoduo sounds like a local lad from the Oldham away EDS videos ive seen?
