I’m happy if he wants to fight it out with Doku for the left wing but I don’t want to see him and Doku in the same team. Not until they both hit some proper consistency. 4 goals in 52 games isn’t good enough for a winger at Manchester City.
Doku is the only player that should be starting on that LW at the minute. I don’t care who’s got a new contract and who doesn’tI wonder what this means for Doku especially after the start to the season he has had.
If we give Savinho a new deal as a LW (We aren't giving him a deal based on his production on the right) and we also have Omar who would be next to impossible to move. the odd man out is Doku.
We’ve lost to Wigan from two divisions below us with this team out:Against Huddersfield - lucky goal - but an overall very poor performance.
Huddersfield is 2 leagues below us - and against such opposition, Savinho should have shined.
Instead he was unable to beat his defender most times - and when he did or when played into an open position - he often failed to make the obvious pass. Instead, he most often plays the ball into space where hopefully an attacker might be, instead of forming a picture of the pitch and playing the ball into a position were an attacker is or will be.

Delph massive weak link. We’ve lost to Wigan from two divisions below us with this team out:

Actually on three occasions we’ve failed to beat Wigan from two divisions below us (1982, 2002, 2018) and five times in total from two/one division below or having been relegated (1982, 2002, 2013, 2014, 2018).
Even Agüero and David Silva have had utter stinkers in these games.
He was actually brilliant in the 100 points season. I had it in my head it was Walker that got sent off that game. Obviously it was Delph it was just Walker that dropped a bollock to cost us the games as we completely dominated with 10 men.Delph massive weak link.
That would be my opinion too but Pep sees something in him that you and I don't. Spurs still showing an interest too?He hasn’t done anything to justify a new deal especially when he’s still got 4 years left on his current one
I'm not saying Savinho is a bad player, he is obviously very talented and can become very good in the future. But with him on the pitch the team just had its worst season in a decade and him scoring 1 league goal in 29 games in his only season in the club. If his first season had been a huge success, either individually or for the team, an extension on better terms might have been warranted. Now I dont really see the logic behind it. Better terms should be earned, not given just because Spurs showed interest.I like Savinho, I think he has a lot of promise and could grow into a fantastic player.
However, surely one of the benefits is having him on a lower salary while he proves he can grow? His contract runs until 2029, I don't see why we are angling to give him improved terms.
Possible that we’re adding a release clause so Sav can get out if he wants and we’re locking him in a lower wages (but a raise) in exchange?
