Dundee school obtain tickets for Liverpool game

One thing that isn't being mentioned in this discussion is the selling criteria

Why should a school kid who has no allegiance to City be able to obtain a ticket when a school kid in Manchester who's family want to buy them a ticket have to have attended 5 games in the last 2 seasons?
That’s my issue with it exactly. For this game I will have to get onto an online scrum which might take an hour to have a chance of tickets for my lads, even though they’ve attended over 100 City games each. Coach bookings should not be allowed for fixtures with selling restrictions.

Correct. I dont think many people would have a problem with 50 kids from Dundee coming today, as any blues who want to attend will be able to get a ticket. That's clearly not the case for Liverpool.

There is also far more chance that some of the 50 follow liverpool than burnley.

I'm sure the school in Dundee would have brought the same amount today as they are for the liverpool game as its still a chance to watch a Premier league game involving City.

I don't want to sound so snti City but it does piss me off that these things can be avoided quite easily.

On the flip side City do absolutely amazing things too, lots that go unannounced, as an example my two daughters were on the pitch before the game, watching the players train and then had their photo taken as part of the team lineup before KO. Amazing experience for them.

If the school that the kid goes to in Manchester applies for the group package and is successful (I'm guessing there's a limit to how many they sell) then they'll be able to go, regardless of who they support.

But that relies on the school doing that, we currently have no examples of that happening.

And a Mancunian kid who follows City shouldn't have to be reliant on their school to source tickets.

Did you have to pay anything to get them on the pitch ?

Nope. I actually received an email out of the blue, although I do click enter on any comps I see on the official site, it didnt read like they had won a comp and both kids got to do it? We've got a fair few loyalty points and the kids have travelled to a lot of aways so not sure if it was picked because of that? The girls absolutely loved it though, the people we dealt with were an absolute credit to the club, they went the extra yards to make it special.

Thats the thing. City (through Danny Wilson) were absolutely brilliant with our Ukrainian refugee family, with tickets, a shirt, hospitality, a meeting with zinchenko, etc. but then they cut off my lad’s season tickets and broke a three generation link with the club, maybe forever.

£20 for Junior Membership.

How many of those Juniors won’t get a ticket for the Liverpool game?

Plenty. The tickets will sell out in minutes when they go on sale to members in October. Same happened for the United game.

I did see your post the other day regarding your lads, I didnt comment as it seemed you weren't sure whether to post as it was clearly raw. I was fuming reading it, absolutely disgusting way of treating fans. It seems those within the club who can see the human side of a discussion go the extra mile, but many just see us as a number and follow the rules as they see them.

Hopefully they enjoyed the Huddersfield game, and you keep them going to games.

Hate everything the club has become.
I'm devastated like most about Ricky but even more so after today.
The couple next me she turned to her fella and said who is Ricky Hatton and he had to Google it. totally fumming we don't want people like this in the ground

Where is the not so new ticket compliance manager in all of this?

Chasing tickets being sold outside of the club by City fans at face value, and trying to stop it.

That’s why he or she was brought in by the club.

He or she doesn’t give a fuck who City sell tickets to, including to people who don’t support City.

This stinks really bad ….. club need to make us know why ….. cunts trick on local schools

If it’s true .

Today 1st 4 rows of 109 (009) mostly taken by the same group of foreign tourists.

Arrived early doors and obviously all together ….. must have been 20 blokes.(probably more)

Obviously they can either afford it or freebies ? Why are the club pricing out our own?

TBH, I loved it today.

Not just the result.

But seeing pockets of empty seats all over the ground with a new 8000 capacity North stand tier waiting to be filled.

There’s not a f*cking chance the new 62,000 capacity Etihad will be nowhere near full, bar for few big games.

Soriano, Danny Wilson, and the other Directors will see that from the Directors box.

The Directors and the club don’t tell us, the fans, anything.

They seriously believe that the fans they leave out in the cold are going to pick up the slack when the next game is one the tourists and day trippers don't fancy.

That new stand is going to be a millstone around their necks if they don't sort this out.

Blues, everyone needs to calm down with this. It is 100% fake and has been done to wind us up.

There are so many red flags, this for a starter would never, ever be in a school letter - EVER!1759031177753.png

There are many other pointers that it is fake, I'm not going to go through them all (like, erm cost of the trip which parents would immediately ask!)

Don't get suckered. We laugh when a mole gets into redcafe or RAWKS and posts reactions. Let's not fall for a phishing attempt.

Might not be a millstone round their necks as some seats will sell, the problem is that it won't be anywhere near full on a regular basis unless they slash prices even further, and that's unlikely mid-season.
Two problems: Lapsed fans rarely become regulars again when prices have risen so much since they left, and people find other things to do with their time. Even those who retain a decent level of interest find two hours from kick-off to final whistle on TV or a stream is preferable to two hours in the ground with additional time spent travelling, queuing and trying to find a decent pub.

I think its absolutely fine for people to be in the ground who don't know who Ricky Hatton is , not every football fan follows boxing. If however they got in without meeting the criteria everyone else had to in order to buy a ticket that's a different matter.
