Premier League Games | 27/28/29 Sept '25

According to VAR ( what I'm told they said) the attacker wasn't in full control of the ball so it couldn't be classed as preventing a clear goalscoring chance. The same excuse for not sending the Palace keeper off in the final where it was claimed Haaland was going away from goal so the handball wasn't classed as stopping a clear goal scoring chance.
A load of rubbish
All smoke and mirrors
Any excuse to cover themselves.

Cheers for the replies. I thought it had to be dangerous play for it to be a red if a penalty is awarded.
To be totally honest, i only know this because I had to look it up, i too thought the double jeopardy rule would eliminate the prospect of a red at first. Anything that can't be classed as a genuine attempt to play the ball has potential to be a red too. Hard to keep up with the rules nowadays they are tweaked so often.

I think the current rule is fine, but it is incredibly difficult to distinguish a genuine attempt to play the ball from a crafty long stretch when the defender knows he can’t get there.

At the match yesterday so, didn't see any of the other games.
Just watched Chelsea v Brighton.
Is there a worse official than Simon Hooper?

I was impressed with Wolves last night, I enjoyed watching them. If they can play like that in their other games then they should start picking up some points.
Really hope so. It has been a thoroughly depressing start for us but we're showing signs of improvement and deserved to win last night. The injury time equaliser was a killer and Palinha's salty, disrespectful interview at the end was classless and infuriating.

Sam Johnstone had another great outing in goal. He has been very unpopular since signing and seemed to be on the way out but has done very well this season and has now displaced Jose Sa.

I love big Tolu, proper unit. Scored a beauty of a goal against Everton in the cup in the week

I don’t think you have to convince anyone on here how frustrating à late equaliser is.

They seem to be all the rage in Nawf London at the moment.

Sancho on the bench for villa. Everyone remember when he first went to dortmund and was doing well and people were saying how foden needs to leave City to reach his potential?
