25 | Gianluigi Donnarumma - 2025/26

Just goes to show having a goalie who is a wizard with his feet isn't the be all and end eh?

Undefeated since he joined and we've played better football actually, despite him not pinging 60 yard passes.

Just shows people are putting way too much emphasis on goalies feet. He's solid enough in that department. Let the the outfield players do the tricky stuff, that's what they're paid for. If you have an Ederson to join in, great, but not essential.

Annoying that we've conceded an unlucky own goal yesterday and a lapse in concentration at the back that cost us a 90+ minute goal against arsenal because we'd be raking up the clean sheets now, but looking pretty safe and assured on the whole at the back. Feels like we're safe as houses with this guy generally

I call this bullshit, the only reasons of why City sign Donna is because he is successfull at PSG last season, you know under manager with possession based philosophy ie Luis Enrique.

Why City didn't sign Donna when he is available at Milan few years ago?, because he didn't good enough to play for us no matter how good his hands is. Only when he shown improvement playing on his feet under Luis that he is become good enough playing for City.

OK?

So a player proves his quality and we sign him. That's what good clubs do.

We didn't sign him years ago because he was still young and we didn't need a keeper then.

Recently, Ederson was hinting at leaving for a year or so, so we needed a quality replacement and we got this guy.

I'm not really sure what your point is. All I said is people have gone pretty quiet about his feet recently, because it's showing we don't NEED Ederson to play good football.

People were shitting their undies, talking like we could never play good football again without Eddie.

Notice how many games we've lost since he came on board...

Made a hugely important save, read the situation and chose the right moment to snuff out the danger.

Really hasn’t had to make many saves since his arrival, which his good, but has saved everything that he had any chance of saving. You can debate his positioning for Arsenal goal but, given where he was, he had no hope of reaching the shot.
