Blaming him for the Gardens is like blaming Jim Ratcliffe for City not having a right back. Or Khaldoon for the leaking roof at Old Toilet.
If you want to criticise Burnham, choose something for which he is responsible, such as the Bee Network. If you want to moan about the Gardens, blame the Councillors of Manchester City Council. Their Leader is someone called Bev Craig.

So his responsibility for police priorities is tenuous, to say the least. Unless you are arguing that he should put Council Tax up substantially to pay for more police officers. (I'm not sure that that's in his power, but even if it is, it would not force the CC to deploy the extra officers in particular locations.)
