The Piccadilly Gardens Problem - new development proposal (P32)

They really don't give a fuck any of them, but the incumbents right now have no intention of fixing the problem. I know people say "What can they do" but it does look like they are doing nothing, zilch, nada.

I wonder if these people drive through Manchester getting a rush from poverty porn watching the almost Victorian lives of the dregs of humanity as they disappear into one of the many concierged glass fronted palaces they've erected for the well to do?

Richard Lease born in Mansfield

Pat Karney Born in Dublin

The democratically elected should really read party selected mate.
That's what I was thinking...the left wing councils love it.

Fuck me. Yet another thread that contains a post that attributes issues to a person or an authority as being left or right wing. Its fucking ridiculous now.
Don't worry most of the negative posters on here haven't been in the gardens for decades and are taking youtube cranks word as gospel

I go through it daily and it is just the average shithole it was in the 80s/90s/00s

Nice to see De Bruyne coming back to visit

The black kid on 7min 50secs singing 'we dont need no education' was a reflective enough to make the coffee i was drinking spill out of me nose. Singing it whilst being threatened with a stabbing from a fat woman that couldnt breathe was class.

Is it any good in there? Not been in since it was Mother Macs.
I will never know since they sneered at Manchester with the new name and also refusing to aknowledge the pubs grim history in some modern "bad things" are not to be mentioned in case it upsets people bullshit

Someday a real rain will come and wash all the scum off the streets.

People are too restrained. If we all lived in genuine communities where we all genuinely loved our cities, towns, villages, etc, we would never let shite like this happen in the first place.

We've all been guilty of turning our heads, walking by, and letting it happen. Doing so has resulted in the scum rising to the top... they are 21st century celebrities, and hundreds of thousands of idiots watch them on videos like we've seen posted on here. Stop feeding the beast.

We've lost decent societies all over the UK. The public should apply pressure on local councils, police etc to do their jobs, and get the shit off our streets.

Unfortunately, it won't happen, because we live in a lazy society where people prefer to just close their curtains to reality, and watch fakery on their TVs and phones. Society is guilty.

Just been reading some fbk posts from a local group who go out graffiti scrubbing, litter picking etc in the area. Of course some comments on there whinging that they shouldn't be doing so as it gives "the Council" an excuse not to bother. Probably the same people who chuck their crap everywhere and say "the Council" should clean it up because "it's their job".

Honestly feel less safe on the fallowfield loop and cutting through Monsall than hanging about the gardens

There's a lot of truth in that.

I regularly walk through the ‘gardens’ on my way to work. I think it’s getting worse. Over the last few months I’ve seen open drug dealing, fights, assaults, people being robbed and people off their faces on all sorts. I know this has always happened in that area, but not to this scale.

I’m seeing more homeless people as well, which is spreading out from the gardens now. On one side you’ve got luxury apartments and buildings going up non stop and the other extreme poverty.

Posters might not agree, but I don’t see these same issues in Liverpool (nowhere near the same scale).
I’ve said for many years that Liverpool and Newcastle city centres are much nicer to look at at street level, more pleasant to be in when walking around and are much friendlier than Manchester city centre.

Even Leeds which is fairly unspectacular as a city centre is cleaner and has noticeably fewer cunts hanging around the streets than Manchester cc.

And, as you say, Manchester is getting worse rather than better.

Manchester is constantly improving its skyline, but the streetscapes are a disgrace. Manchester is a graffiti, litter, gang, street drugs taking and street drinking pisshead ridden moody shithole at street level.

Even the general public in Manchester have an unfriendly and impolite feel about them these days; and that’s not just the dregs of society around PiccGdns, it includes all the boring wankers who live in the city centre these days and frequent the pubs but don’t have an ounce of jovial banter or conversation with strangers about them.

Manchester seems to have lost its Northern friendliness in the last decade or so. It’s just become a Northern London.
