11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Actually I thought Rodri and Dias were really poor in terms of picking him out. Both of them took the safe option over and over again when passing, which was more often than not sideways to Berardo or Foden. Almost impossible to make an impact against such a low block if you're not getting the ball.

I'm glad Pep subbed him as we need him for Sunday. Savinho was poor when he came on. Can't get Marmoush back soon enough IMO.
I agree, they were. As was Stones.

He had two players on him from the end of the line, and the third right-back was waiting for him just behind the two outside defenders. They understood he was the number one threat, and, with the right flank dead, Monaco's weak five-man defense crept towards Doku and managed to cut off any connection with Haaland. He made two runs and demanded the ball deep inside, but he wasn't served by Rodri, who was average yesterday.

The excessive over-responsibility of Doku and the left flank is starting to show. The opponents are watching him, and that's not a solution; we'll have to vary our attacking style.
Agree. Not that difficult as far as varying. Play Bobb on the right until Cherki comes back. Also, I'd hate to do it but for a game while we wait on Cherki and Marmoush to return Foden can move to the right, Reijnders can push up and Nico G could be paired with Rodri. Just please no Bernardo at RW or Stones at RB for that matter...

Playing really well this season but he needs to start scoring. We can’t just rely on haaland again. Yeh it’s the midfields job to chip in, but for me after the strikers the next on the list that needs to step us is the winger.

As long Bernardo stays on the other side he will not only be our most important creative output but also overwhelmed by opponents because on the other side - nothing NOTHING is going to happen.

actually managed to do absolutely everything wrong today, could not believe my eyes

Inconsistent lightweight? Doku has been maybe the most consistent player of the season and lightweight? Doku is everything but. He is an ox...typical people who probably haven't made a comment here for weeks, but the first time Doku doesn't play a brilliant match, they suddenly appear. By the way, he was only 18 min in the pitch...

Wonder if he’s carrying a niggle to have not started and then not great today or be Monaco after he’s been so class. Think he’ll be back after the break.

Find it madness he was left out. He’d built real momentum probably for the first time since he’s been here. Yes he wasn’t good v Monaco but credit to their fullback and i actually thought he was just starting to come into it before he was subbed. Leaving him out yesterday seemed very harsh especially as no other winger has shown any form.

Just saw the game and this is actually true lol, none of the moves he attempted came off. Its actually weird because they were all kind of *almost* succeeded, the 50-50s he usually wins. I feel the explanation is that the opponent was really fired up to get that equalizer so they were really giving their max and Doku just couldn't adjust to the pace of the game and change to the next gear. Either way he had 10 or less effective minutes with all the stops so even all those moves where he was stopped in his tracks were like 3-4 in total and all those decisions were good, they just didn't come off. Hes in good form and just needs to stay confident.

He’s come on leaps and bounds so far this season, not sure what people are watching m. I admit have been unsure on him but his end product looks like it’s improved and if it continues to do so he will be a massive player for us this season!
