Heaven only knows how persecuted middle aged white men would feel if they got the same amount of blame that each Muslim gets each day.Think GNev missed the point a little and that's what is annoying people. The guy that attacked the Synagogue probably hasn't done so because he's influenced by Tommy Robinson or middle aged white people. Maybe he was a nutter or maybe he was radicalized online but i would eat my own man City bucket hat if it's because a union jack got put up and a roundabout got painted.
Ironic that the words of this middle aged white man has caused such division.
Seemed like Neville was blaming middle aged white men for the Synagogue attack though. He's unhelpfully conflating two distinct issuesHeaven only knows how persecuted middle aged white men would feel if they got the same amount of blame that each Muslim gets each day.
The snowflakery would be off the scale. Every town would be on fire.
I don’t think he was. He was saying that the flags were part of an ongoing campaign to keep us divided.Seemed like Neville was blaming middle aged white men for the Synagogue attack though. He's unhelpfully conflating two distinct issues
Have you watched the video?Seemed like Neville was blaming middle aged white men for the Synagogue attack though. He's unhelpfully conflating two distinct issues
He started his video referencing the Synagogue attack. Admittedly I've not seen the video in full and may have been the victim of clever editing but summary here is what some people are hearing him sayI don’t think he was. He was saying that the flags were part of an ongoing campaign to keep us divided.
They're all shit. Sky knew they had something different with Neville about 12 years ago - he had just finished playing, knew what it was like to play week in, week out in the premier league and had been a part of some hugely successful sides, so was, as others have mentioned a beath of fresh air at the time.I mean your going to slam me here, maybe even chuck me off the forum, but I don’t mind Gary Neville as a pundit.
Talks more sense than Carragher, Shearer, Micah, Redknapp, Keane to name but a few of the utter shite on the football telly.
At least he knows what it takes to win multiple titles, CL … unlike all others.
I can see why people think that, but I honestly think he was trying to dial back the rhetoric more than blaming people. He started his video referencing the Synagogue attack. "The Synagogue attack has dominated the news and I got to thinking. The real problem is the union jack and middle aged white guys".
He might be right about an ongoing campaign to divide us but the motivation of the Synagogue attacker is not the same that's being stoked by Robinson etc.
There can be more than two bad actors involved in a society or community but saying it's all the same is ironically causing the division he's concerned about.
I can’t stand Roy Keane.
All he has to offer either on the pitch or as a pundit is : break some legs
He's conflating two different issues and obscuring one of them. He talks about the Jewish community being defiant and then gets to thinking the problem is society is being divided by mainly middle aged white guys. This is missing the point about the Synagogue attackHave you watched the video?
He didn't blame MAWM for the attack.
I can see why people think that, but I honestly think he was trying to dial back the rhetoric more than blaming people.
"The messaging is getting dangerous"
"All these idiots out there spreading hate speech in any form, abuse in any form, we must stop promoting them"
"We must stop elevating our voices towards them"
"It needs to stop now"
"And get back to a country of love, peace and harmony"
Ann other thing that needs to stop is this.Noble words from the guy who riled up the rag mob to go and break into the swamp!
Don't confuse patriotism with nationalism as per george Orwells definitionsHaving watched his little rant he's bang on about all you racists hiding behind your 'raising the colours' good on him for calling it out. You want to make people who aren't white and British uncomfortable and that's the root of it all.
Patriots do me a fucking favour the fat pikey **** who put them up around Cheadle never paid a penny tax in his fucking life.

It's not just poor timing. He references the attack and the defiant Jewish community and then goes on to give us a speech about patriotism. If anything he's piggybacking on the attack for his own outrage as everything he says after his intro about the attack is largely irrelevant to the specific attack he references at the beginning of the video. Not really. Poor timing aside, he was passing a comment on the flags as a response, and the ongoing context. People claiming otherwise are piggybacking the traattack for their own outrage praeching and further division sowing.
