Sounds a bit like the old wrestling venue at King's Hall, Belle Vue ? I'm sure Old Doris would have been there with her huge handbag.

I remember once watching a documentary which also featured mental asylums, particularly Bedlam in London. In the 17th and 18th century people would pay to visit them as entertainment to view,laugh at and mock the patients. Piccadilly gardens is the modern equivalent.
It's full of mentally challenged people, the homeless, drug addicts, gangs of unruly youths and criminals. This has attracted hordes of YouTubers, many who goad and film them for entertainment and to gain money from further voyeur's who view the results on YouTube.
The whole area and central Manchester in general needs totally cleaning up and made safe, so everyday people can visit it once more to shop in peace and for a pleasant day out. I remember as a kid in the sixties and early seventies when going to Manchester city center was considered a treat. Now it's hell on earth and people avoid it at all costs. If they have to pass through there they do so as quickly as possible. Sad what it's become.

The people who run Manchester and they can see it, they don't fix it in fact it's getting incrementally worse week by week.

They don't give a fuck, it'd have helped if the people in charge were actually Mancunians though which they aren't.

Fair enough, those above are not Mancs, but they have been democratically elected.
What about Pat Karney, who seems to have been about for decades ? Or Richard Lease ?
Think both of these are local, both are long-serving council guardians, but surely have seen the huge deterioration of Piccadilly Gardens ?

They really don't give a fuck any of them, but the incumbents right now have no intention of fixing the problem. I know people say "What can they do" but it does look like they are doing nothing, zilch,nada.

I wonder if these people drive through Manchester getting a rush from poverty porn watching the almost Victorian lives of the dregs of humanity as they disappear into one of the many concierged glass fronted palaces they've erected for the well to do?

Its like the council leaders in the majority of major Citys are simply turning a blind eye to it :( Bradford 40 odd years ago was an amazing city bustling with shoppers rammed all the time .........its now become hive for youtubers who know its a shithole full of complete nutters
 
This thread was started in 2015 by the sound of things it's got worse,why are the police not handing out baning orders to the scum involved.

They are no joke them pallets,I once picked a empty one of the floor 5 minutes into a shit, felt something pull in my back,2 hours later I'm basically crawling on the floor.
Off work for 2 weeks.
 
My unpopular opinion is that they should flatten it all, build offices and shops on the land and then there won’t be somewhere for any of these scumbags to congregate.

There’s nothing they could do to make it nicer from here, doesn’t matter if there’s a little kids park on it or bars in shipping containers or markets or if they put the plants back in - as long as it’s there, the problem will remain.
