It barely registered as an election issue. Around 10% in polls (before and after the election).
 
A few years ago you had Labour safe seats voting in Boris Johnson’s government. People said it was the end of Labour.

A few years down the line, Labour win one of the largest victories in British political history.

The conservatives are struggling right now, but politics is weird. My prediction is that reform will be short lived - they may well win the next GE, but they’ll be terrible in office and lose any credibility for the following election.
 
Lowe's ego massaged at the expense of an elected Tory MP's place on a committee but you can see its a dig at Reform which shows how much they are scared of Reform

Reform are a one man band. Voting reform is seen as voting for Nigel, even though the MP or councillor your voting for is a complete fuckwit who can't or won't do the job. Farage if he actually joined and led the Conservative party would walk the next election. Had he joined the Conservative as a right wing tory MP he would have had more success electorally.

That's the pointless debate though for those who always have economic issues on their minds. Armageddon, disaster, bad, worse. I had pretty much zero interest in the economics before or after the vote beyond saying those claiming armageddon were being silly. And they were.
Im not sure trying to argue the effects economically does any good whatsoever but a decade later its still happening daily. Its pretty odd.

Personally I would say covid, austerity and the Ukraine war are the biggest reason for our decline. I also have a nagging feeling Europe has had its day.

Leaving wouldn't have happened if the oh so clever folk had been.... well a bit more clever.

Anyhow its happened and our malaise will continue because we are devoid of any actual new ideas.

I would vote the same way tomorrow, no hesitation.

My argument about the country being worse off certainly wasn’t restricted to the economic. It’s worse off in many respects.

Agree with your view that Europe’s likely has its day.
