President Trump

Welcome back the Trump fans here. Take care in counting chickens. This is not Barron's guaranteed crypto fortune, but a very complex, 80 year tinderbox. I note some fine print details that will undoubtedly be obstacles in the road ahead. As for celebrating his infantile rudeness to international statesmen and women, I find that weird, like cheering a school bully from the back of the 'arena'.

That a nation that supplies so much support and weaponry to Israel could then be lauded for bringing a ceasefire is another strange one, like tipping a builder for repairing a wall he knocked down with his digger. That they've awarded the contracts for the rebuilding of Gaza to themselves is an absolute head-scratcher too.
Thanks for the welcome and I am glad you have your weekends back from plodding the streets of Piccadilly.

It will be nice to celebrate peace.
As I said, there is a long way to go. That is not to be defeatist, but realistic. The US sits firmly at the shoulder of Israel, and its politicians are paid handsomely to maintain that. Human nature being as it is for those taking the money, things are unlikely to change and the threat of retribution will always hang heavily over Palestine.

If this peace is maintained, and Israel withdraw, and Palestine is given the right of self-governance, then I will celebrate and recognise Donald's contribution. Unfortunately, I find nearly all of those outcomes unlikely.

Yawn. I don't have a horse in this race, so I think I can look at it dispassionately. Other than reprehension at the use excessive force on a civilian population, I wouldn't care if all Israelis and all Palestinians killed each other, tbh.

But I'm somewhere in the middle in this. On the one hand, it will probably all go tits up very soon. It only takes a couple of false flag operations from these militias that Netanyahu is apparently supporting and then everything is off again. On the other hand, Trump has placed a great deal of his personal reputation on this and he can see dollar signs from all the Arabian state investment. No greater incentive for him than that. Well apart from a Peace Prize. We will see.

And let's not forget, timing is everything in geo-politics. I would have stopped this a long time ago if I could, but there may be reasons why now was the right time. Trump's personal feelings, possibly. Whatever, now is better than 2026, even if it's not as good as 2024. Let's see what happens next.

Six killed as IDF opens fire on 'suspects' after 'violation of Gaza ceasefire agreement'

More than likely.
They are as bad as each other that's why it will never end. : (
Officially 69.000 Palestinians dead in the last two years, though speculated to be 200,000 dead, suggests they are not quite as bad as each other, but the point is noted.

The IDF have claimed that the Palestinians shot dead had broken the agreement by crossing a line. And so it goes on.

Make that Seven. Another one has apparently just stepped over a line.
Have they actually sprayed in paint this yellow line ?
If not how the fuck in shambles they have left behind is anyone ( except Israel troops supposed to know where the fuck this so called line is.)
I think to many have discovered the joy of killing
