Hamas (and to a lesser extent Fatah - and prior to that PLO) have always had their leaders (and family, and guards and family) outside the conflict areas- mainly Gulf states (iirc used to be Libya/Syria as well). Living a rich, safe (relatively - see Qatar attack as a recent example), uncomplex life, whilst ordering their underlings to keep their downtrodden fellow population in check

It's everyone's duty to call out Fascism when they see it.

However, it's the simplest political system to follow if you're in the majority. Until they get down to you and your beliefs in their list to remain 'supreme'.

Why did he go directly to Egypt after Israel, and go to great lengths to great lengths to praise their military dictator?

It's really easy to understand some of the decisions he makes if you consider the people who stand to benefit most from those decisions have somehow either done him a personal favour, or funded him in some way, shape or form, or promise to do him a favour in return.

Everything for him is transactional on a personal level.

Tariffs increasing their costs, eliminating their exports and their workers, destroying their currency, taking away their healthcare while bailing out Argentina instead.
