Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

That’s a bit over the top, it’s not long since we had to wait until the end of the season to get our money back (or a credit towards the next ST) and before that got nothing. An ST is a commitment to attend every home league game - and whatever that cost will be - but now the club recognise that because prices have spiralled it’s only fair to offer flexibility in payments and refunds. Criticising the time it takes to get money back is a bit much IMHO.
Disagree, why should it take up to 45 working days for a payment you are owed? It's your money.. they are quick enough to take your monthly DD payments.

The problem with West Ham is not the size of the stadium (it’s full pretty much full all the time) but the design, it’s completely unsuitable for football and should’ve been knocked down after the Olympics but for the dodgy deal Coe, Brady etc engineered. We can argue about our atmosphere but when it’s good it’s VERY good and our stadium design supports that.
My point about West Ham was more about the crowd dynamics. They get a lot of people attending who aren’t West Ham fans, who are there to watch games casually or watch opposition teams.

Maybe in terms of finances it was good, but I don’t think they’d needed to leave Upton Park. They’d have been better with a smaller ground, built for football and actually full of West Ham fans.

I’d look at palace and think they have a great ground already and they have been really successful.

You agree to buy something then decide you want a part refund because you can’t use it. Except for the first 14 days, or whatever consumer protection it is, the seller can just say “go away” if they want to. Of course they won’t because they want fans to renew.

DD payments are what and when you have agreed to pay for your ST. Again that is a facility the club don’t need to provide, they could ask for payment up front.

I really think people moaning they haven’t had a £50 refund for six weeks is a sign that a season long £950 commitment might not be for you. You’ll get your money it’s not like the club are struggling for cash.

To be fair mate the club were quick to move the unwanted ticket on, they really should be quicker on paying the value of the ticket back.

Not really.

Refunds can be done pretty much instantly these days. There's no need to wait 45 days for City to credit City fans their money back.

It doesn't take 45 days for the Ticket Exchange money to go into City's bank account does it.

oh i realise their all in it together. we'll all recon they hate us but read twitter other clubs doing same ticket scams as city
newcastle giving blocks to schools
everton new shinny stadium rows of same empty seats
ticket pricing top end get as much as possible

but while psr and theres a table other fans can take piss becaues X stedium is only 90% full and clubs fan income is compared and smaller clubs need more money to spend on transfers then prices will rise and clubs blame fans for not paying higher prices it's another stick used by chairman for not spending

Exactly.

There are no excuses to wait 45 days before the club refunds the resale seat money back to City fans.

I had my money which was scammed off me refunded by the bank within 14 days, and that was after the bank investigsted the scam.

That’s irrelevant. The club may have to do checks on the account (arrears etc) before returning funds or something like that.

Why are people desperate for the money back so quickly though? You’ve already committed to spending £1000 or so, why is it important to get that £50 back? Is it the lost 31p of potential interest? Just seems weird behaviour to me.

It's the principle of it, it's not just City it's in general. Although City actively like you giving your ticket back so they can flog it for more money they should IMHO just give the money right back it's not hard.

Sometimes it sounds like the ticket office is run like Peckham Spring Water.

Unless we reduce prices, I can’t see us regularly filling out that stand/the ground. Especially for your run of the mill league games or champions league group games.

It kind of feels like we are just building for the sake of it now. But it might have a negative impact on the atmosphere and the make up of the crowd - I’m thinking similar to West Ham or even juventus who needed to move to a smaller ground
That depends on whether City sell season tickets for the additional capacity. If they do, then it will be full. The presence of 8,000 extra seats is going to significantly improve the atmosphere.

This isn’t strictly a refund like for a returned item. I would guess they stated 45 days at the outset to cover any potential arrears an account might be in if it’s been paid by DD instalments. Otherwise they may have to be more aggressive towards those who miss a payment and that’s not a good policy either. They might also want to check a supporter isn’t banned, undergoing investigation or something else whereby they forfeit having any part of their ST refunded.

It’s still quite new though this refund business, maybe it will get shorter than 45 days in time.

Think you've hit the nail on the head about finances. Was at the London stadium for work only last week & got talking to some fans who were pragmatic in moving from Upton Park. Similar to us, it would have been madness to turn down pretty much a free stadium where they could grow, generate more revenue in order to keep pace with the other London club big boys.

What I don't understand is why they couldn't properly reconfig the stadium similar to us which also had running track. Seemed a bit of a rush to get them in & now more work to retrospectively change it for football use.

Must say was surprised how developed the surrounding area is next to their stadium - probably far more than us. Something for everyone, your chain restaurants & cafes, university campuses, hipster canal boats serving craft beers & even some old school boozers have survived serving I kid you not £5.20 pints.

You need to call them perhaps, 2 full months is even over their stated 45 day upper limit. This is presuming your bank details are correct and up to date.

4. Payments, fees, and charges

4.1. Sellers whose tickets are listed in accordance with clause 3.2 of the Ticket Exchange T&Cs above shall be entitled to payment as set out in this paragraph 4, regardless of whether or not the relevant ticket issuccessful resold via the Ticket Exchange. In all other cases, payments will only be made to Sellers whose tickets are successfully resold via the Ticket Exchange.

4.2. Payment will be paid into the UK nominated bank account of the Seller within 45-working days from the date the Match is played (in the unlikely event that payment cannot be processed within 45-working days, the Club will contact the Seller with an update on when payment can be expected). If a Seller does not provide a UK nominated bank account, the Seller will receive a Club voucher for the value of the ticket price within 45-working days from the date the Match is played (such voucher will be valid for 12 months from date of issue).

4.3. It is the Seller’s responsibility to ensure that their nominated bank details are up to date and correct, and for the avoidance of doubt, the Club shall accept no liability for funds paid into an incorrect bank account where the Seller has provided incorrect bank account details or failed to ensure their details are correct.
On the odd occasions that I've sold mine on TE, payment to my bank has varied between 10 to 14 days, inc weekends.

It's up to 45 days and I think I saw that they expect around 10-14 days on average. Which is what you say your actual bank took to refund a scam, and that's from a bank which you'd expect to be instant (you do say after the investigation BTW, so I'm presuming that's accurate).

Perhaps the club run a script every few days rather than do them ad hoc?

if they are not struggling for cash, why delay what people are owed? missing the point.
