City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

The planned strikes are for this weekend 19th-22nd and further planned dates are 30/09-2/10. Luckily this doesn't clash with any home fixtures. If any further dates do get announced that will impact the matchday buses, I will let you all know.

Cheers Katie something to keep an eye on, hopefully it will soon be sorted.

Hello, I am so sorry for the experience faced by you and others last night. To be completely honest and transparent with you, I received notification at 17:35 that the driver was unwell and had to abandon the route, I tried to get the operator to get a replacement driver but due to the late notice it wouldn't have got to the stop in time, so we had to cancel the service. I was back and forth with the operator all night and was promised there would be a driver there post match. The driver then got stuck in road closures on the way to the stadium making him arrive late to collect passengers. I am taking issues on this service very seriously and internal conversations are taking place to rectify this moving forward as it really just is not good enough. I can only apologise again, but please know something will be done.
thanks for the update. Once I realised that the bus wasn't at the pick up point to go home I realised that meant it was stuck in traffic leaving the match and it was going to arrive very late. I had already checked there was a train from Ashburys and so that looked the better option, so I took it. It might well be the better option for me in the future.

Hi all. The next home game is Everton 3.00 on Sat 18th. There is a bus strike that day. Will the specials from the suburbs run as normal? How about the city centre buses after the match?

Sorry if "everyone knows that".

Hello, bus drivers at some Bee Network bus operators – First, Metroline and Stagecoach – plan to take industrial action which will impact services on the 18th. There wont be any city centre shuttles and First operate MC12, MC13 and MC14. We are looking into what we can do to cover these 3 services and I will update you on here early next week. All other matchday buses are operated by Tyrers, Diamond and Go North West who are not striking.

Just an update, First have called off their strikes so the matchday buses won’t be affected for the fixture on the 18th. However, at this time we are still waiting for an update on the Metroline strikes. If these go ahead the city centre shuttles will not operate.

MC3 Route Update, Important Information

Hello everyone,

As many of you who travel on the MC3 service will know, we recently had to temporarily change the route due to a weight-restricted bridge. During the last fixture, we conducted a customer survey onboard to gather your thoughts on the revised route.

A significant number of you expressed concerns about the delays caused by the change. Based on your feedback, we’ve now amended the route to improve your journey.

Please note, to implement this change, we’ve had to update the bus stop in Audenshaw. From this weekend’s fixture onwards, MC3 will now pick up at the stop opposite the Sun Inn in Audenshaw.

Thank you for your continued support and feedback, it really helps us improve the service.

I get the No 14 and while it works great, I do have a question. What is the reasoning behind the new stop at Central Park? I’m yet to see anyone get on or off at these stops. Adds time to the journey and seems utterly pointless.
I found over the years that pointlessness, along with a fair smattering of Enid Blytonesque fiction, underpins most printed timetables.

The reason for the stop at Central Park was to provide an option for drivers who would like to use the nearby CitiPark car park as a park and ride and then catch the bus to the stadium. I will report back your feedback though, and will monitor this over the next few fixtures. Thanks for flagging this!

Fair enough, thanks for the response

Just a heads up, Metrolink works are taking place this weekend, so trams might be affected on your way to the Etihad. Plan ahead and check your route before you travel. Please share this with other Blues so everyone gets to the match without delays.

MC13 has broken down in Shaw. Mechanic on route but likely to be running 45 minutes late. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
