Spent nearly a half a billion to make their team drastically worse than last season. Piss funny.

I do think the players they have bought are individually good and will work out eventually but they changed too much in one fell swoop when it didn't need changing.

didnt they pay 116m for wirtz to unlock banked up defences? If you can only get your team to play against teams who play a certain way that suits you then you are a crap manager.

He could have done a job for us Wirtz but that ship has sailed for his dad taking more money from Liverpool than what City would pay.

Does anyone remember when Haaland was having a rare dry spell and that c@nt Carragher was writing articles and all over Sky Sports gleefully stating that Haaland had signed for the wrong club. I wonder if Jamie Lah would dare write that about Wirtz who now doesn’t even start for Liverpool?

After yesterdays sulkathon i wouldnt take a blind bit of notice from the spitting one

IMO they made a mistake with their plans for Salah. Salah's reaching the twilight of his career and is losing his pace and agility. He has always been some sort of wide forward and should've been moved centrally as the main striker, but instead he seems to be more like an out-and-out winger these days.

Unfortunately they've made their bed spunking 250mil++ on 2 strikers and a hefty contract for Salah means they can't drop him.

Slot was laid back last season. No pressure and Klopp team doing the business. Saying that, the points show they were nothing really special, even acknowledging the post championship games drop off.

Then the wagging finger appeared. Mcpointy finger started showing his true colours. First Klopp's gurning teeth, and now old sausage fingers. The fourth officials really need to get more protection.

Now i see it's all Oliver's fault.
From his angle, he saw three players go for the ball, with the one in the middle getting squeezed. There was no head to head contact, so waved play on. He couldn't have seen Van Dicks elbow take out his own player.
Since the rags were on the break, he had no reason to stop play. Too many players feigning head injuries also don't help.

The dippers really are a strange bunch.

Watched the dips game yesterday and between them and the rags fans my mind wondered…

Where have I seen those types of inbreds before?

-:)

Anyway,

Seen a dip fan afterwards crying. We miss tent lol. Salah no good, the new players need time. I was sniggering away.

Proper down. 4 in a row I said, now you can sing that. Face dropped hahaha

He had a massive freebie ...............the challengers over the last few seasons dropping off added the amazing form of Salah and VVD he couldnt go wrong .............now we will see what he is really like when he is up against it :) remember the huge drop off after Klopp won the title can see the same thing happening here.
They are only up there due to a hell of a lot of luck late on in games.Fortunate against Burnley when the defender had a brain fart moment fortunate that Newcastle with 11 men would have seen them off ............you lose to that shite yesterday and alarm bells should be ringing

isaak is another grealish , he is a good player but not worth what they paid and never will be, where he differs from grealish is that he wont get continually hounded from the media for not living up to the price tag. If city had signed a striker for 125m and theyd scored 1 in 7 there would be a loop on ssn about what a failure they had been.
Isak is a result of the English media refusing to admit City have the best striker in the country, and possibly one of the best players on the planet right now. So they push Isak as this incredible footballer that's apparently "better than Haaland" when he has put in half the amount of goals across their careers.

They lost at home to one of the poorest teams currently making up the numbers in the Prem, despite spending more money than any other club. They might call it a blip, the blinkered savages that follow them will call it that, the biased studio pundits and tabloid hacks will also call it that, but from what I have seen of the dippers thus far is a team thoroughly unbalanced, like they are unsure of what Slot's tactics are.
We, the people who love the game, we'd watch a kickabout in the park, or a bunch of kids in the playground: as long as we can watch a game of football it'll do (well, that's how I am anyway). Us older FOC's will have been watching the sport since we were kids so we know a thing or two about the game: we know how it's played, we know the rules, we understand the tactics and the plans the manager has for whatever game is next. So you have to ask what the fuck is wrong with Slot in that he cannot see that Vain Dick is being carried by his fellow defenders because he simply is not up to the job anymore? He has become a very serious problem for the team because of his indecisiveness and his lack of speed: the man is in his early 30's, any kid in his late teens or early 20's is going to roast him alive, so what sort of damage is top, fit and athletically strong trained professional going to do with him?

I like to see it because I can't stand the dippers and I can't stand that arrogant, smirking twat Vain Dick, so as far as I'm concerned keep him there Arnie, keep him there. But I am not alone when I say that their defensive talisman is now a major hindrance to a team in progress.

They should have improved their defence really!

Van Dijk and Salah both look miles off it, and I'm not sure they'll get it back considering their age. Allison is a big miss, he probably saves Mbuemo's shot - and tends to help them appear better defensively than they are. The rags sliced through them, as Palace did. Sit back and counter and they just can't cope. The balance is gone, and I don't think they have the players at the moment to restore it.

Newcastle last season were set up to get the ball to Isak every time in the final third . No sign that Liverpool are geared that way . Their surfeit of choice in attackers may be their undoing as they all want to be the main man . I don't buy the "not fit" line but he may well have the weight of the world on his shoulders after his antics over the summer .

Average full backs isn’t gonna change any time soon
Also having an in form forward you can’t play because you have to play Isak isn’t good
Neither is Wirtz not being good enough to start
And Salah and van dijk looking old
Love it!!

He had very little time to stop the game between the injury and the rags scoring, was it about 10 maybe 15 seconds. Like you say players feigning head injuries doesn't help the referees.

They nearly got Guehi at the end of the window. He would have been a solid acquisition.

Van Dijk slowing down is normal, what surprises me is how bad Konate has been since Real Madrid have apparently told him to ride his last year out.

Both fullback appointments have been poor as well.

Anybody who watched Leverkusen over the last couple of seasons will have said Frimpong is not a right back.

Allison being out once again supports the idea that a world class GK is absolutely paramount if you want to do well in this league.

I said at the start of the season that it would be statistically unlikely that all their signings would be hits but also unlikely that they would all be shit. Well, what do I know…..!

That left back doesn’t look up to it at all

They should have got him in before anyone else. He was a bargain for the quality he has. They've prioritised the wrong areas which is surprising because it has been clear for a while how poor they are defensively. Scoring goals was never the issue.

As for the GK, 100%. Arsenal moved for Raya even having bought Ramsdale not long before, because they knew even a small gain in that area was fundamental to success. They decided to ignore their problem position up front though.

We're in with a shout this season purely because whilst the club didn't act post-treble/4 in a row, we soon learnt our lesson and strengthened the areas we needed to. We needed a refresh and we got it.

Arsenal should have got attacking players in sooner. Had they, not only could they have won the league last year - they'd have been much better this year too. The door is ajar for us if we can continue to improve.
