Stupid malicious cunts.

Question: is this one of the boats that were sunk or is it propaganda? Given that the gov have been foung to be lying to the court this week, we need some evidence.

No, this tweet (which I don’t believe is by an official government entity) is using a picture from a Spanish news story from a year ago and claiming it’s one of the Venezuelan boats that was destroyed — which is in and of itself stupid since the boat appears intact.

So multiple levels of fabricated cuntfuckery involved here.

The 2nd pic, a full version of the 1st… is from 2024…so the pic homeland security are claiming for… is from a year and a half ago

No surprise. I guessed right but that was easy as maga lie about everything.

It seems to be a news/media source in Austin, so as you say, doesn't seem official.

Does anyone have an explanation about why Trump is massively anti-Venezuela? Attacking small boats off the coast of Venezuela and claiming that they're involved in illegal drug smuggling without proof. And apparently sanctioning CIA ground-based operations inside Venezuela... which ultimately could escalate big time leading to the loss of US lives and perhaps to a declaration of war.

What's the upside for Trump? His base hates wars - as do most Americans - and a ground-based CIA attack on supposed drug cartels in Venezuela - to me seems to be a non-starter in terms of MAGA base support.

Venezuela has one of the world’s largest proven oil reserves

Trump backed Maduro's opponent a few years ago and he lost; just as in Brazil, that makes him look weak so he overcompensates and vengeance must be enacted.

He tried to get rid of Maduro before and it didn't work; that must be avenged to make Trump look STRONG. The framing has changed to Maduro being Escobar-alike, and not just a corrupt politician, presumably because it is an easier image to promote.

Biden relaxed sanctions, and he must be WRONG.

But, mainly it's likely to be down to oil. Venezuela has enormous reserves of it, and being able to bully them may give more influence over OPEC policy. This may be assigning too much long term planning to Trump!

Yeah - but if that's Trump's actual motivation - he's batshit crazy - which, though I hate him - I do not for a second think that he is.
Like everything else with Trump it's about power.

Having an enemy (any one, doesn't really matter who) that he is more powerful than and can bully is an exercise in demonstrating to others that they should kowtow to him or face the consequences.

Often there's also an element of revenge for not kissing Trump's ring in the past - again an exercise in power.

See also Comey, Bolton etc.

Trump is seen as crazy, stupid etc, but he is in reality a highly effective, cunning, Mob boss, and should be seen in that light

Control the cocaine?

He is bonkers, he believes in his own rightness, he doesn’t know how stupid he is, he believes nonsense, he has crazy ideas, he understands little, but he is not insane.
Depends where you draw the line, I guess. He’s delusional, irrational, capricious, sociopathic, a compulsive liar and wholly inconsistent.

I’d say someone acutely possessing all those characteristics in conjunction with each other isn’t operating in a way that is sane.

Looking at that legal test, I’d say he definitely sits on all fours with it:

He suffers from a defect of reasoning; he is unquestionably subject to a disease of the mind; and he certainly does not know (or believe) that his acts are/were wrong (see January 6th).

So yes, he is legally insane under English and Welsh law.

You don’t think Trump is batshit crazy ?
I do not think so.

Trump comes up with numerous insane ideas - but all of them fit well into the context of his base - in other words, completely insane on the surface - but actually very popular among his base. He seems to advance crazy ideas only if his base either immediately accepts his ideas - or after an orchestrated campaign to bring his base into alignment with his actions.

The possible ground-based-action-against-Venezuela is a marked departure from the norm. It risks US lives in an ground action against an supposed foreign adversary which could easily escalate into an all out war. And this is the motivation behind my post... why is Trump so aggressive against Venezuela?

tbh I dont think it is a trump thing it is an America thing. Venezuala has lots of oil, it is also being courted by Russia for its oil. America dont want Russia on its doorstep and getting more oil. Maga's dont want a war... Trump has a fine line to walk but at the end of the day it is his supporters who he will have to let down.
