9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

This has to be his target :-) another 9 games to go and he's already on 22 goals.

Lionel Messi holds the record for the longest goalscoring streak in league football, scoring in 21 consecutive matches during the 2012-13 La Liga season. He netted 33 goals in that streak, which remains unmatched.
That was league games only, Messi didnt score in a few cup games during that run.

Yeah, he has another 15 games to go to match it. But only needs another 2 games to match Lewandowski 14 consecutive all comps game record (since 2000)

Where have all those people saving he's shit.
Doesnt fit our team.
We're better without him .
Where have they gone.
What were witnessing now is history in the making.
We're watching and we are a part of the greatest goal scoring player ever.
What hes doing will be remembered and talked about for a hundred years.
This lad will break every record .
And set the standard for strikers for a long time.
And all in a city shirt.
What a guy xx

I don’t think anyone said we’re better without Haaland, as in, we’d be better if we sold him.

However, we did play more attractive football and our other attacking players looked to have more fluidity in their play as a unit, when he was out of the team in April last season, than the run of games before then where we’d been poor against Spurs (even where we won), Forest and Brighton where he played and even scored two goals in those games.

The general team play wasn’t good in those games though. Then when he was out, it seemed to give the other attackers a new lease of life and we did play better football and got better results without him. Then when he came back in a poor 0-0 performance at Southampton and everyone around him looked worse again, it made people think we played better football when he was out of the team.

I can see why people said it at the time because at that very time is was true.

Things can be true when they’re said even if they change to be different in the future. And that change doesn’t make those people wrong from the time they said it. It just means things changed.

It’s like when people say ‘everyone was wrong about Rodri in his first season’.

Well, no, they weren’t if what they said at the time - for example, ‘at the moment he’s nowhere near as consistently impactful as Fernandinho and if he doesn’t improve on that we’ll be a worse team for it’ - was true. Which it was. And they weren’t proved wrong by Rodri becoming the best player in the world for three seasons running, things just changed.

Is it the new typical City to have one of the greatest goalscorers of all time and to surround him with shit.
Which isnt really too far from the truth, id love to know what he really thinks of our wingers and midfield haha

I’ve said it multiple times on here. I’d love to know what we said to him for him to sign that contract. I bet they didn’t mention half the players that they’ve signed in the last 4 years and that Savinho/Bobb will be the ones supplying you.
