Gvardiol didn’t overlap him at all. Doku struggles alot without O Riley. Bernardo tries his best but he doesn’t really have the legs to consistently underlap him. Today that backline had him in hell. I guess Marmoush Haaland Cherki is the new front line

Watched Desire Doue score a brace one both feet. I even saw Rashford score a great brace. Quick actions. Good first touch and strong ball striking.He's just not got it has he?

Time is running out, after a 4-5 game great spell, back to last season.
First thing first, he's not a wide winger, he can't play of the touchline, he's more of an inside forward. Now as an inside forward does he have what's needed? Ball retention? No. Shooting ability? No playmaking? Average.
So he can't play as a wide winger and when he plays inside he's inconsistent. This is not sustainable.

Doue scored in a transition coming from the left wing. Same as Rashford. Their front lines are more fluid but they possess crucial skills that our wingers simply don’t haveAnd none of them played on the wing. Don’t understand the comparison. Leverkusen also didn’t sit deep

That's wrong, not bothered to argue though. Time will tell.
Part of the problem is he is getting hauled off at 55 minutes. Teams energy levels are dropping in those final 20-30 minutes and he can use his pace to get past players and into the box (See the Napoli game)He was rested against Everton?

Nah, they aren't doubling Vini or Mbappe. Even though i haven5 watched them mych this season, it'd be hard to double all of , Doue, Barcola, and Kvara...Teams area doubling on Vinicuis , Mbappe, Kvara, Doue , Barcola & Olise as well
That said, Doku has to find a solution when he is being locked down. That's the job of an aspiring Superstar.
Mourino gave him serious issues. Perhaps switch wings or go central and let the leftback overlap. Change the angle of attack. Etc

Regardless of his general play which can be great at times or crap, his ability to score goals is lacking. Savinho too. Both of them need to improve that or there won’t be a long term future for them here.
So we need a world class winger , been saying for over a year now.
