Arsenal thread | 2025/26

Never mind Haaland scoring a PL penalty, never mind no City player at all scoring a penalty, we haven't even been awarded a single one this season. That model of breathtaking, attacking football Manchester United, meanwhile, were awarded three in their first 6 games.

Howard earning his crust ….

Wtaf. No way. Surely not.

I'd believe it if it was penalties awarded AGAINST us.....
Since the start of 2016/17, City have had the most penalties in the Premier League. Surprised at that. It's not even close either,

City 74
United 66
Liverpool 60
Chelsea 59
Palace 55
Brighton 53
Arsenal 51
Leicester 49
West Ham 44
Tottenham 42

Less surprising is we have the second lowest conversion rate in that list, ahead of only Leicester

City 74.32%
United 75.76%
Liverpool 86.67%
Chelsea 88.14%
Palace 78.18%
Brighton 77.36%
Arsenal 84.31%
Leicester 73.47%
West Ham 77.27%
Tottenham 83.33%

Someone on the football facts thread posted that since 2016/17 (I think) we've had more penalties than any other team in the Prem and by a distance.

You’d imagine that, the most dominant cavalier team yet, still only 1 in a derby in the same period & only 4 awarded in the last 18 months, that’s 1 less than we’ve conceded.

OPTA "Super computer" predicts Arsenal will win the title. Dips 2nd and is 3rd.

It didn't add bottling it into it's code for the prediction.
We are 7 games into the PL. We've had 'Dippers will walk the league, Arsenal are playing with the handbrake on, City are shit' and then 'Wirtz isn't gelling, Arsenal are showing character but only score from corners, Haaland is a beast' to now 'Dippers are getting found out, Slot only won with Klopp's team, Arsenal have an amazing squad and will piss the league, City look a decent team'.

We are literally 1 Arsenal loss combined with a City win away from 'Gunners are bottlers, Dippers need a defence, normal service resumed for City they will win the title'.

I think any giddiness from fanbases needs to be kept in check until feb/march.

You mean until April/May

Rookie error.

Another classy move by Arse-anal. No hot water for their European opponents for the mandatory training session the night before the fixture. Class, class, class.

If Arsenal do end up winning the league and conceding less than 15 goals, would you see that as a massive achievement on the likes of City's treble season ?
