Makes you wonder what we don’t know about when it comes to China because we hear very little. We know far more about Russia, Iran and Islamist threats than we do China. So for them to be considered #1 is as interesting as it is alarming.

I have a Chinese wife and as a result often make trips to China.
China is only interested in trade and improving the lot of its' people imo.

It's been indoctrinated in us. Probably since the opium wars.

We get fed the western view on how it's run and operates. Which is usually tinged with a geopolitical angle.

The ordinary Chinese, when encountering a Buddhist monk, the first thought is ,"this is a scam." And you have to consider that Buddhism is a religion deeply integrated into Chinese culture for over a thousand years. Even so, most of Chinese, upon seeing monks, still react with "scam" as our first thought. Let alone other religions.
 
No matter how nice and peace loving some on here have been claiming, our security services evidently wanted to prosecute these two . It seems that our government are anxious not to prosecute for fear of offending the Chinese.
The comment ,with almost every purchase made nowadays, comes to mind ,( I think it was Lenin ) who said " the capitalists will sell us the rope we hang them with".
