Question Time

It's been hard going so far tonight with the token right-wing stooge, Matt Goodwin, being allowed to hold sway by the hopeless Fiona Bruce!
Waste of time, not even worth thinking about.

The Beeb is probably the best channel you can get for impartial news, but they are also competing for views against all the other news organisations and, with all the top jobs there going to Tory donors/friends, they can use their influence in opinion programmes such as QT.

The Beeb is one of the reasons Reform and Ukip, before them have blossomed.

Its not, its your bias. It tries to be neutral in impossible circumstances. The right think they are nandy pandy liberals the left think they love Farage.

The BBC isn't the problem, no offence people like you are.

No offence taken. If they were truly neutral, they would platform actual left-leaning voices as much as they do with Farage and his ilk.

No, not really. UKIP did not blossom and Reform are there because rich media owners are so scared of Labour being in charge of policy, utilising mainstream and other media sources to gain traction. The BBC, with the current heads of sheds, are a small part of that, I agree.

The best part, for the rich media, is that they’ve got their data analysis right and ensured their push has been receptive to those that will take it, leading to the current discontent of a few boats over the cunts running away with all the money.

I just shake my head.

I didn't quite believe some of this report...

but I think this captures a lot of the criticism of where they get the "non-politician" right wing bias accusations:

The outstanding feature of the research, and one that could point to a potential breach of broadcasting impartiality rules, is the preponderance of right-wing commentators being used.

Those who appear most frequently tend to come from the political right and are typically opinion columnists who write for papers such as the Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph or appear on right-leaning broadcasters such as GB News and TalkTV.

The top five most frequently used panelists have all written for the right-of-centre Spectator and there is no comparable influence from left-wing publications. The most frequently used writers from the left were Novara Media’s Ash Sarkar and former Guardian columnist Giles Fraser.

The fact that the most regular panelists on Question Time are Isabel Oakeshott and Julia Hartley-Brewer, Cardiff rightly argues, “raises questions about how producers choose guests”.

At the very least, the overuse of those who write for right-wing outlets “suggest an emphasis on heat over light”.

wow - Fiona Bruce announced the Prince Andrew news live (its a recorded show) and Goodwin is trying to steer the discussion onto Pakistani grooming gangs

Give me your opinion who is left or right on tonight.

Please note we have a Labour govt and reform leading the polls.

Btw I would love a green party member on there.

I would say there ain't that many left wing publications about but I would agree that those 2 ladies are on too much especially as they are a pair of cunts.

There is such a blur about what is left wing nowadays it becomes a problem. Bluemoons favourite Diane Abbott was on all the time. I dont put Nandy or Abbott in the same bracket at all. As a broadcaster its an impossible task tbf.

I don’t watch it much anymore, but I caught most of it tonight and Bruce absolutely was holding Goodwin to account.

The bbc sometimes don’t get the balance right, given the surge in the Green Party vote in particular, that should be reflected more on the panel, but I have absolutely no problem with them platforming right wing views on QT. They are polling high and the more they’re exposed and queried, then personally I think the better.

One of the best ever QT and gave me some hope this country might actually reject these grifting Reform cunts, well done to Nandy, Shaheen and especially the audience members who really fought back against that smug GB News bellend.

Also I have no problem with having a reform member on the panel, they are whether we like it or not riding high in the polls and fastest growing grass root membership- cancelling them would do more damage.

Interesting to see the reaction from the audience in response to the reform company spokesman Matt Goodwin's comments.

Many more against his views than supporting them.

A bit like the Caerphilly election result, it gives me hope people are awake to what reform are about.

If reform are still polling high close to the next election, then that might be labours saviour tbh the way it’s going.
