The Labour Government

Look over there :-)

But yeah that was tragic
I had managed to avoid reminding the Tories that Liar Johnson's ethics adviser resigned because Johnson rejected his advice (and another resigned because he'd been too busy). And Johnson himself got away with taking his lover (one of them) on trade trips because the Mayor of London's code of conduct didn't cover such things. Frankly, not getting a licence under a complicated Housing Act isn't exactly like lying to the monarch about proroguing Parliament.

From "Your top ten examples of whataboutery".

One of the many reasons they were booted out.

Apart from the fact that the Senedd is already elected by a sort of PR, and the change to a different form of PR dates from before Farage found Wales.
And yet Drakeford is quite happy to state that introducing PR will prevent Reform from gaining power in Wales.

So it’s incompetent to trust your lettings agent to do there job. Would the same apply to your solicitor ? Accountant ? Builder ? Window cleaner ?
It's actually worse than incompetent in her case as she initially claimed to not be aware of her obligation to obtain a licence whilst at the same time she's publicly declared the importance of exactly that licence.

You/I have absolutely no idea who was present when a licence was mentioned. I'd be really suprised if she and hubby went swanning into an agent face to face or she was present on an online call, after all she's just been made chancellor and has as been previously mentioned, the public would have been outraged if she'd taken an afternoon off to sort out a personal matter. Hubby/assistant may have said in passing, "we need a licence but the agent is sorting it". I'm not sure a year later that would have still been at the forefront of her mind.

The fact is, none of us know and even the RW media have moved on.

Politicians always keep their promises eh? Did you get levelled up? Do you live near one of those 40 new hospitals?
I've said previously... there's absolutely nothing to suggest that Reform would honour their various policy commitments if they were to gain power, there's every likelihood they'll prove to be as self serving and acquiescent as the Lib/Lab/Con Uniparty are to the globalist corporations and parasitic rentier class establishment who run this country.

Didn’t Labour have a transport minister dishing out pay rises without them being approved?

Obviously the remit of the untalented.
The pay rise was sanctioned by the treasury to end a strike.

Haigh resigned over a a fraud claim over a missing phone donkeys years ago.

If immigration matters to the majority of the public, how come they're only polling at around 30%? That's because most people aren't gullible enough to think immigration is the main issue or the only issue.

As for reducing taxes, Tice was banging on a couple of months back that they were definitely going to bring in the £20,000 tax-free allowance. Now they're coming up with excuses as to why they can't do it. Fact is that they'll never do it even if they do manage to reduce spending. And they'll struggle to reduce spending anyway, given that they've completely and utterly failed to do it at local level.

They're a shambles of a party - run by grifters and chancers and full of incompetence and inexperience
He said they wouldn't reduce taxes until they've first reduced spending, which seems eminently sensible to me, I'm not sure how anyone seems to think it could be done any other way?

As I've said previously Reform may very well fail to honour their policy commitments if they do achieve power and could well prove to be as self serving and acquiescent to the globalist corporations and parasitic rentier class establishment who run this country as the Lib/Lab/Con Alliance have been. Who knows?

The problem any Reform Councils and Councillors have at local level is that they're inheriting a workforce made up overwhelmingly of left wing individuals who are deeply entrenched in a public sector "work" culture of entitlement, inefficiency and incompetence where they've been under no compulsion at all to be in any way productive or accountable... that workforce will inevitably double down on their appalling attitude to work and become uncooperative and intransigent in the face of any attempt at reforming it by Reform Councils.

Farage appears to back up what you are saying, a true man of the people earning £24000 per hour for a gold bullion company. This taken form his own statement to the parliamentary authorities:

I'm sorry, where did I say Farage is a man of the people?

What policy commitments are those? I can't see too many but to take the biggest one of the lot - they were banging on about increasing the tax-free personal allowance to £20,000 but as soon as they got questioned on it as to how it would be paid for, they scrapped that idea. If they're binning off major policies like that nearly 4 years out from a General Election then I'd love to see what their manifesto looks like with 6 months to go.
They didn't scrap it, they clarified that it would be introduced once spending cuts had first been made.

That seems entirely sensible to me and I can't see how anyone thought it could be achieved any other way.

Nothing to do with the type of people in local government and everything to do with the fact there is little fat to trim after 15 years of freezes and cuts to local government. Reform were going to cut DEI officers that didn’t even exist ! And now they are spending £75,000 in one local government

This is sort of what happens when somebody gets paid to film a commercial that might only take a short period to make, and a company then uses that commercial in its advertising for a year or so.

Everyday’s a school day…

It's everything to do with the abysmal work ethic that exists within local government workforces and the wider public sector.

Tolerating this atrocious public sector work culture with It's appalling productivity and complete lack of accountability is one of the single biggest economic drags on the UK and it still exists as bad as ever regardless of any cuts and attempts to reform it over the years.
