11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Better option than Savinho or Oscar Bobb. Beats his man, makes things haplen, unpredictable, improving his end product. Positive signs overall.

He plays like its 40 degrees outside, he just had a full meal, has been constipated for a week, and also has a hangover.

Seriously this level of lethargy is insane for someone so agile. He's definitely gotten stockier and lost pace since Rennes and his first season here. Now its literally just the shimmy and that 3-4 yards advantage.

Much better when he's roaming centrally, unlucky not to get two assists in the first half, I'm a bit worried about his wing play though, looks like he can't beat defenders anymore.

Doku, Marmoush and Bobby all prefer this sorta central role, maybe only Savinho prefers staying wide but not sure.

Hope its not a one off.

Ain't you the same person that used to adore Doku? I'm not saying I disagree with your post, but what changed??

I love him but I can be objective. Its weird because I think he can be so much better if he applies himself more. I wonder how Pep and his teammates don't have a go at him for being so languid all the time. The man literally made zero off the ball runs today. Even one time there was Haaland running with the ball in the middle, he was on the left with all the space in the world just jogging.

When youve got an entirely unpredictable player like Doku. You get the best from him by giving him as fee restrictions as possible. Allowing him to roam inside and not hold the width. Makes him extremely dangerous, beating a man out wide and having the option to run into space or cross it is entirely different to beating a man close to the goal and having multiple passing options or shooting option. Give him more of that freedom. And with others to worry about, teams can't stick 3 men on him and silence him.

The system we used today is the blueprint.

Doku, Bobb, Marmoush, Foden, Cherki and even Bernardo can play the 3 attacking midfield roles and interchange constantly. Could even try Savinho there too.

Then we have Rodri, Gonzales, Reijnders, Kovacic and Bernardo to play in the two behind.

That then will release the full backs more too.

Squad depth and quality too.

Really good today inside with lot less of the ball than he normally has. Cherki and Haaland will take the headlines but if it wasn’t for 2 poor finishes he’d have provided the 2 best assists first half I’m all for a solid base with Cherki, Foden and Doku getting on with it behind Haaland
