He’s an absolute nightmare up close. He could play as a 9.He hasn’t got the footballing intelligence, stamina, ability or awareness to play a free role. He just doesn’t work hard enough.
I agree that he is wasted on the left though because he can beat his man whenever he wants to. It’s the bit after that that is concerning for me. He has improved this season but for me that wasn’t hard for him to do at all.
I hope he proves me wrong but I don’t think he’s anywhere near good enough looking at his overall game to have any sort of longevity at a club that wants to challenge for titles.
Have you missed about 4/4 games this season where he’s been allowed to roam inside? I’d start him Sunday. Get him running at Bradley and I’m 100% confident that he will get some joy. Then just hope Doku doesn’t switch off and that he tracks runs and helps out with Salah etc

No, I haven’t missed a game all season. He’s looked miles better than he’s ever been before for us this season but he doesn’t do enough when we don’t have the ball for me and he needs to if playing any type of free role.Have you missed about 4/4 games this season where he’s been allowed to roam inside? He has flashes of brilliance but they are just flashes. As I said, he can go past his man at will but once he’s done that he doesn’t get decent passes off often enough. It usually ends up being a slow 5 yard pass or a hopeful ball into the box. I hope his improved for continues and bleeds into other areas of his game.

How can you criticise him on the form he's on!? His movement with the ball is fantastic that will do meI agree he’d be awful to play against if you’re marking him and he has the ball. He can’t finish though, sadly and his movement isn’t great. If he could, then yeah I agree

So much rubbish written in this post I haven’t a clue where to start, btw you don’t need to work hard in a free role across the line, you need to position yourself properly to receive the ball in the pockets and create chances and defend from the front whenever possible. This guy must be an absolute terror for defenders. He was already an excellent dribbler, now he's popping up in spaces that makes him hard to mark.
I liked his transparency when he self-reflected to have not played well in that two games, and proceeded to step his form back up.

Makes no sense. Only a handful of games he’s had the freedom to drift this season. There’s been other games but off the top of my head. Last night, very good with an assist, Napoli wonder goal, utd 2 assists and on Sunday very good and should have had 2 excellent assists. So not really sure how anyone can think he doesn’t have the ability to play that role as it stands never mind if he continues to improve.They will come at you for this but it's spot on.
