Referees' Performances | 2025/26

After their goal, the ball was passed back to Donnnaruma, who belted it, whistle went, foul to Bournemouth, was taken from where Donnarumma had just kicked it. Ref seemed to be bollocking Gvardiol, TV missed it. Anyone know what happened?

After he'd kicked it , from my view in the SS out of the corner of my eye the B'mouth player seemed to slip. I thought he'd been turning in relation to The Don's kick and just fell over.

Doubt even Taylor could find a foul in that tho.

I sometimes suspect referees change the way they referee us depending on the score. We seem to get more favourable decisions later in games when the result is almost certain. I suspect it’s an attempt by the refs to even up the stats.
This 100%. Reminds me of the last season the rags won the title. Zero red cards or penalties... Until they had already won the league. Also, the most red cards and penalties in their favor. Also, each match against title contenders had a red card to their benefit. At almost exactly the same time Fellaini was blocking a shot with his arm over his head a yard inside the box at Goodison (no penalty given, Rat boy saying "the ref didn't want to give a penalty there"), Vidic was pulling an attacker down in what would have been a clear penalty. The match after the rags had locked up the title, red card against Chelsea just to make things look normal for the season. I still don't think they conceded a single penalty that entire season. It was like watching WWE.

People need to grow up a bit. You know every fan of every club thinks there is an agenda against them yeah?

The ‘foul’ on donnarumma, it happens and he’ll learn to be a little stronger. He just got it a bit wrong.
And keep reading about the handball, and why it didnt go to var, well it wasnt handball sooo…
I am fully grown up thanks.
I was right behind the goal and had a brilliant view of Gigio being pulled off balance. Do you honestly believe that he wouldn’t have managed to get off the ground otherwise??? The guy is fucking enormous and built like a brick shithouse.
He’s plenty strong enough trust me.
He was fouled.

As I say, the games going soft. He should have been stronger, which he was for every corner after. This is the premier league now, he has to learn.
Stronger??
He’s a massively experienced international keeper.
He’s won the Euros and the Champions league.
He’s played at the very top level for 10 yrs.
How much exactly do you think he needs to learn about being physical?
He’s exceptionally good he is at clearing players out of the 6 yrd box but it’s a bit difficult to do that when someone’s got hold of your arm and dragging you back you know….

Referees are supposedly trained to spot players diving to gain a foul; yet it surprises me how oftern they fall for it.
You push or trip someone, their natural reaction is to put their arms toward to ground to cushion the fall. When a players throws is arms in the air (Mo Salah is the No.1 exponent) it is clearly simulation.

Ruben body checked one of the Bournemouth players, only Taylor fucking saw it, happens all the time especially when the ball is passed back to the keeper from kick off.

Their player slipped over. There was no contact whatsoever with a City player therefore the Alty fan gave Bmouth a free kick.
All makes perfect sense.

Great quote and great memory too.

Precisely.

Linking arms doesn't require a lot of strength to restrict someone's movement. It's just biomechanics and body weight.

We do things differently yep as telling the referee boss web! Problem that is that won’t upset him or referees if you keep it quiet you got to let the world know that they are cheating cunts by calling it out in the media Everytime these things happen! It proves what we been doing last 10 years is laughed at by the referees and they carry on refereeing us totally different to any other home team!
I 100% get where you're coming from and 100% agree about the arrogant twats laughing in our faces, but do you honestly think that the media would back our claims if me made them publicly?

They'd just see it as another opportunity to laugh some more and take pot shots at us.
Pep's feeling the pressure, never a foul,...etc...etc...etc...

We're on a hiding to nothing with the media, and it looks like we've decided upon a strategy of just not interacting with them in any meaningful way.

I know that I live in a dream world but IMO it shouldn't take a rant from a manager for the media to do their job, and it shouldn't take errors being highlighted in the media for the refs to behave impartially. Like I say dreamworld :)

As is the norm nowadays the centre forward goes to press the keeper and the centre halfs block off. On this occasion Josko stood there, the player ran into him and just bounced off, Taylor gives a foul. Let's see if that happens again all season, my guess is no.

You know what you're getting with Taylor, amazed the club hasn't made it harder for PGMOL to not give him our games. Backed up by Tierney who also hates us on VAR, we were getting nothing. Remember Taylor giving Arsenal a penalty for their player going into Ederson. Never before or since has that been a penalty and the very next game reffed by Taylor, an identical situation happened and no penalty was awarded. Then you had him make up his own rules for our game at Anfield, telling both teams he would let fouls go, which suited the dippers and then ruled out our goal for an extremely soft challenge in the build up. And no one can forget that Chelsea match. I am sure there will be plenty more, how much more evidence does the club need to present its case to have him removed from our games

I'm not disputing the ball had been kicked, but by the time it got near donna he was free of interference. This sort of thing always provokes discussion, some think keepers are over protected, others think they should get more protection. It's a subjective call at the end of the day. The way I look at things is would I be pissed if roles were reversed? ie our goal disallowed for that "foul". In this case you bet I would

Some keepers are over protected… …the ones that play for the red cartel!
