Sorry, but you lot are not meant to be arguing amongst yourselves here. It's meant to be venting your spleen at me!

Would like to think that the performance we put up against RM can be replicated against you lot on Sunday. However, there is zero guarantee as that performance is very much a freak so far this season. Gives me a little bit of hope....but then it's the hope that kills you!

Moving swiftly on …

Just been on a flight from Manchester to Reykjavik - absolutely loads of plastic scousers. Al least 15/20 shirts. Unbelievable Jeff
One blessing is that they were leaving and not arriving!!

I always thought Milner was bood because he said his reason for leaving was because he wanted to play in midfield and not in defence only to play at the back for the dippers almost straight away,
That’s probably bollox though.
Personally I could never take to Milner
Despite him having a decent time with us.

One of his reasons for joining Littlewoods was that he wanted to win trophies.

Slott would have watched our game and will set to park the bus like last year!

That's how they play most of the time anyway against a side of equal quality or better. Keep it tight and hit diagonal balls to Salah and the other wing. It's successful against ourselves a lot because we play with a high line and attack them. Hopefully having Klopps ex assistant with us now gives us better tips on how to counteract them.

If we lose our will be because we beat ourselves.

Too many times lately the opposition score and our heads go down lose confidence etc
Got to be stronger in those moments because Liverpool will probably score.

They will raise their game no doubts but we are on the rise, just could have done with another month of games to prepare for this.

For me this game and the return against them are the title deciders to a degrees, though we will see if arsenal can keep up their level for the whole season. But if Liverpool beat villa RM, City in one week it will give them confidence, and they already have the players. We beat them, different story.

Cmon city smash them this time.

I don't think we'll smash them, not really Pep's style to demolish teams (apart from one or two I can think of). I think he just wants the win regardless of how many we score. Which I think we will get on Sunday. They will play deep and invite us on the break, but I still think Vain Dick is the weak link and if we really go for it this time we'll get the three points.
Although of course it would be nice to hammer the dippers 6-0, it just ain't happening.

Cherki though to Erling in the middle.

No doubt Van Dick will lose his shit and get away with it after being bummed by the Viking numerous times.

City seem to want to sit and let teams come onto them at the moment. Wondering if both teams wanting to play on the counter might turn it into a draw. Be good to see big Erl get at Van Dijk, he’s always been protected by a Liverpool midfield that likes to sit and let the full backs bomb on.

Haven’t beaten this lot home or away since the treble winning season, they deserve one coming to them.

Don't we know it.

Mrs Vienna told me that she was nearly punched for sticking up for Ian Bowyer back in the late '60s or early '70s by some thug, who along with quite a sizeable chunk of City supporters, thought he wasn’t good enough, and booed him regularly.

Ian was deemed not good enough, though he was being compared to established stars like the Holy Trinity, Nellie Young and others. He was such a shit footballer that he won the European Cup twice with Brian Clough at Forest.
And still attending the Etihad and still loves City. Those Blues that booed him should be ashamed.

Would Pep be prepared to sacrifice some width in midfield, and have one of the full-backs provide it, to play both Phil and Rayan C. in the middle?

I think both Nico O. and Rayan A-N have the ability to play further up the pitch and provide cover in defence, but whether Pep will try that against Littlewoods is another matter.

I trust Pep will pick the system he thinks will win.

If that means doing what we did at Arsenal and getting a result then so be it.

Personally I want us to play the scousers off the park. Pep is the coach not me. If the Uzbek Assassin and others create a brick wall for the ball to bounce off for Erling to capitalise on then so be it.
