The only shock would be if that is the final delay. 2027 looks a safer bet.

My wild prediction is that gta 6 will be shit. Its just taken too long to make and games move on quickly. What might have felt innovative at the start of development will now feel out dated as newer and better things have been established by other titles in the mean time and if they go back in and change thing constantly, they'll never see a release.

That's not to say it will flop though, it will undoubtedly be the single biggest and most successful form of entertainment in history.
Of course it won't be shit. The only thing they have to keep updated is graphics, everything else, story, feel, atmosphere, music...what makes a good game great, they do in spades.

They always push games back, perfecting, tweaking...

Now fingers crossed they release the PC version at the same time...

Why do they bother announcing a release date? I'm guessing something to do with the stock market?

It was Take Two's end of year financial call yesterday so they had to announce the delay to the shareholders and give them a new release date. Their shares tanked when it was announced from $252.00 to $228.00 a share wiping millions of their account although it did recover slightly to $236.00 at close of business

My theory since the delay in the spring this year was they will delay it even further to around the time of the new consoles coming out. Double the money in a small period of time.

I dont think that works in their favour really. I think ideally they would want as much time between release and the release of a new console generation as that would ensure more double dipping Is more likely but either way it doesnt really matter for them, they'll make billions regardless.
Doubt it, RDR2 still blows 99% of games out of the water in scope and execution and this is going to be a huge leap from that.
Does it? For me rdr2 was very dissapointing. gameplay was very dated, clunky and slow, i only stuck with it because of the story but it felt like a slog to get through towards the end. I agree the scope, the detail, polish etc is second to none but the actual gameplay was just boring and whilst it might not be the opinion of the majority, it's far from an uncommon opinion.

I do get where you are coming from with the Red Dead gameplay being a little clunky but I feel like it was a design choice. Movement was a bit slower than other titles and you couldn't explore vertically like other open world games but I felt much more immersed in the world of Red Dead 2 when compared to say the new Assassins Creed games.
Think the parts I most enjoyed were just travelling around the map hunting the rare animals and fish.

I can't see them making GTA 6 in that same hyper realistic slow style, I think it's going to be nuts!

Started The Outer Worlds 2 last night, only really through the tutorial mission but very promising start. Feels much more like Fallout New Vegas than the first game which is exactly what I was hoping for.

I Know its going to be a good game when I jumped from the top floor to the bottom without taking the stairs and one of the NPCs made a throwaway comment about it. I appreciate those little touches.
