Tuchel gets it!

Thomas Tuchel on @PhilFoden: "Where he played [against] Dortmund was where I see him strongest; close to the opponent's box, a mix between No.9 and No.10. For me, Phil scores and assists more from the 18-yard box - where he scored against Dortmund - on the half-turn, in the pockets.

"I think the main thing with Phil is he gets a role central. I don't see him as a winger at the moment, maybe not any more. He should have a central role, I think that brings out his strengths most - we talked about this with him.

"So he will contribute as a No.9-and-a-half, No.10-and-a-half-ish position, very fluid, but in the middle of the pitch close to the box, be able to assist, and score like he did against Dortmund..."
Tuchel will have to tell Bellingham to get out of the way and stop taking Phil's space...

Or….Phil will be made to sit on the bench to relieve Bellingham on 80 minutes, because Tuchel only has one position for the two players and he’s already told Phil where his position is.

England need to play a 3-2-4-1 against most teams, with Rice & Anderson sitting in front of the 3. That frees up the 4 attackers in behind the CF to have movement.

When the game dictates, it allows the two wide players to get w-I-d-e for Rice to join the 4, such that we can have a 3-4-3 diamond in midfield.

Deffo only mentioned City on BBC text service, but it's just a brief outline of events.
Joey is crackers but I have to admit I find him amusing at times.
Struggling to find describing the murder of George Floyd as "nonsense", Describing two football pundits as ""Fred and Rose West of football commentary" and then superimposing their faces onto the murderers bodies or telling his followers that Jeremy Vine is a paedophile and then posting his address as anything but vile let alone amusing, where do you get your kicks-casualty?

West Ham will not be wearing poppies for remembrance day any more, apparently doesn't "align with the Clubs values", lots of taking the knee and rainbow laces but acknowledging people who gave their lives for your freedom isn't one of them.....
What, the people who gave their lives to secure the future of Europe cannot be remembered by West Ham?

I find it hard to believe that their fans are for this.

Bit of a step down if the reports are true.

Anyone with a scintilla of football brain could have told Tuchel this 4 seasons ago.

Bet your fun at partys.

….and pass to him….the greedy full of himself ****
Absolutely this. If there is one thing that can make me actually look forward to an England game, it would be Phil on top form on the highest stage. He's the more important player in my eyes, not just because I'm city through and through, but because he's not full of himself and criminally ignored by Bellingham on the field.

I'd be interested in the stats from opta or whoever on how many times Bellingham has ever passed to Phil. He's very obviously threatened by other talented English midfield players in 'his' position and this impacts the ability of the team to win. We saw it countless times under Southgate, maybe things will change now that Tuchel has shown Bellingham that he's far from untouchable.

For me Bellingham is better running from deep anyway. Stick him alongside Rice with Foden, Saka and Gordon ahead, then Kane up front. If Bellingham offered that run from deep he'd profit, probably primarily from Phil's passes.

There is a difference between 600 objects striking the team coach at anfield and one object striking the team coach in Manchester.

From the guardian…
Despite a rivalry that has defined the past decade and has led to both sides’ team coaches being attacked, to a £1m legal settlement being paid by Liverpool after City claimed their scouting database had been hacked, and to accusations from City officials that Jürgen Klopp had made borderline xenophobic comments about state-backed owners, which the German rejected, the two clubs have more in common than some of their feuding fans may wish to acknowledge.

I don't often go on the club website so don't know how long it's been on there but there's a marvellous article about Roger Palmer .... has a link to footage of his late equaliser at OT in one of the first derbies i can remember .... kind of a poignant end to it too

Hope he's well wherever he is.

I find that very hard to believe. Have you got a link to the story?

@BlueHammer85 can you shed any light on this?
