10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

If he was the most sought after player in the world why was he so cheap?
I’m sure it’s been said before, but:

Last night I heard my mama singing a song
Ooh wee Cherki Cherki cheep cheep.

It was foretold.

Clearly a question ignorant of the detail surrounding the finances of Lyon at the time of his signing.

Try doing some research instead of trying to be clever ?
I mean he wasn’t lying. The most sought is playing for Liverpool

He is still young and new to the league and team.

It is to be expected he can't reach his meteoric high's consistently.

Not his best effort today but thankfully he'll learn and we didn't pay 150 million for him.

Sometimes he drops centrally too early and it becomes too crowed when he plays at a starting point on the wing, but otherwise hes been mint, and will prob play centrally in the long run.

Done nothing wrond besides this situation

Should pass to Erling here
Despite anything happend tonight
Still the BEST RW option we have

Did wonder if he would be up for the intensity of this, he was not. It's fine though, he's new and settling in, he now knows what to expect in the big games and the level he has to operate at in those games.

Felt like a game where his role was to come on and make an impact as fresh legs with fresh ideas and a quick brain against tired legs and minds more than starting. Its all experience though and an extra game closer to full fitness.

While i understand why he was hooked. I like the mental state of a player who says, It doesn't matter what the conditions are, I will not be rushed. I'll play at my pace...

It might not have worked out in the end but it shows his mental fortitude.

Thought he was poor today. He's got a languid casual style about him and he looked completely unsuited to the demands of the game today to me tbh. The one player I was disappointed in because he wasted a lot of ball in good areas from being too slow to make a decision on the ball. Gave the ball away cheaply a lot.

I've no doubt he will be more effective the more he plays in games of this intensity and understands better what's required. But no, I didn't think he was good at all today and can't argue with being subbed early after half time.

He's a remarkable talent and certainly better than what he showed today.

100% correct - those saying today was not his day are in a way right but also they don't understand the balance he gave the side. No coincidence today's lineup produced one of the best performances of the season - there will be plenty of days like against Bournemouth where his maverick side makes the difference.

Example being Jeremy who 3 games ago was not a threat but today was absolutely unplayable - keep the balance of the side right and it's always about individuals making their teammates be the best version of themselves. I loved the spine of the side today and that allowed Doku to be devastating. Rayan gives opposition headaches because they don't know when he is going to produce a moment of brilliance.

For me the starting lineup today is the way to go with impact from the bench if Pep sees someone not being at their best. The team won as a team and like when we won the lot the key was balance and everyone being comfortable with their roles.
