Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

It’s a subjective decision. It was pretty similar to Bernardo when Stones scored the winner at Wolves last season.

Both were flagged on field. VAR suggested a review for our goal and didn’t for the dippers.

Ah well, fuck them.
We wouldn't have got that decision at anfield, but it wasn't at anfield so that's that. I expect the media will mount something approaching the scale of a state funeral to mourn the offside decision

According to the stats we ran 9km more than the rats today, that’s some effort from us or laziness from them. In fact across the whole PL weekend we ran the furthest, 4km more than Brentford and 12km more than three teams. Hope we don’t have burn out.

Players are really turning up on a more consistent basis, now these levels have to be maintained. Always said there was a player in Nunes, seems to be 1st choice RB, NOR, is there a better left back in the PL at the moment. Nico is getting better and better, Doku, unplayable, Bernardo showed everyone why in these games he is so important.

It’s always great to see those rats scurry off early after taking a beating. Tough couple of months coming up with midweek games until Xmas every week, need the squad to step up and perform. Happy days, let’s see what the likes of Arsenal do now we are inching closer to them

Great win against a very poor team today. A million miles away from their 'heavy metal' era. Impressed with Doku, O'Reilly, Nunes and also the slower pace suited Gonzalez and Bernardo.
They are echoing our Pellegrini years. Rode the crest of a wave with the players remembering the best of Klopp and Slot adding a few new ideas to it for a good mix.

Now looking like a shadow of that.

And we got even worse in Pellers’ third season. Our fitness and running stats got progressively worse. I remember when Moyes went to West Ham after Pellers and said he couldn’t believe how unfit they were and how poor their running stats were.

Liverpool look at but like that. They played alright against Madrid midweek but didn’t cover much ground as a team and we completely outran them today, worked much harder and looked much fitter than them.

Great game. Doku outstanding, probably one of his best in a City shirt, Salah spent most of the match in O'Reillys pocket, Nunes did well with a measured cross, Gonzalez and Gvardiol on their game... I could go on... The only negatives for me were Savinho (again) and Cherki seemed to lack a bit of his usual confidence.
Nice to put it to bed without too much nervousness too. Well played!

The difference is here, Robertson ran across the goal directly in Donnarumma's vision. That to me was more significant than his ducking out of the way as it affects the goalie's positioning
I’m glad it was ruled out. I’d be annoyed if it was against us though.

By trying to get out of the way of it, he’s made himself active. Seems counter productive and one of those things that have gone for us today.

If it keeps the dippers from actually correcting their failings then I’ll chuck them a box of candles to help.

Apparently Neville referred to their disallowed goal as 'blatant cheating.' I think the club need to ask for clarification of these comments.
Has he said afterwards on Twitter or something. I didn't hear him say it on commentary.

Nothing subjective about it Alan, he makes a deliberate action within in view of the keeper and to avoid the ball, the problem is the inconsistency of officials implementing the rules. But your bang on mate f*ck em.

Great performance, some real stand outs in o’reilly, Nunes, Nico and Doku, who I have been hyper critical of because of his end product but he’s a very, very good game today.

Gvardiol had an off day and I’m glad we didn’t pay for it.

Just a great win, Liverpool are properly shite and I’ll never tire of seeing them get battered.

Lovely rest week now to focus on those stripey twats next weekend.

Not going to argue about it. Have moved on to thinking about the deluded scouse commentator saying “He’s offside mate.”
