It was less of a goal than the one that Dias's that was ridiculously chalked off for an imaginary foul on Allison a couple of years ago. A decision which changed the result.First half outstanding performance.....the passing was excellent through the midfield was superb.
Second half a bit sloppy...still some good moments but we took our foot off the pedal a bit.
Doku, both Nicos Bernardo, Dias outstanding.....work rate was phenomenal.
Thought unusually. Gvardiol was sloppy eith his passing into midfield.
Doku the outstanding player....he really has stepped up this season...motm with nico g a close second
Thought their goal should havexstood but I actually don't think it would have much difference ....scousers we're very poor and long may it continue
Cheeky!!! I’m only looking at their football prowess. *innocent look*Not like you to look at men, is it? ;)
Not confidence related - just down to technique.with a ittle more confidence, Nico might have had 2 goals.
Love to know he gets "cheating" out of that incident. Robertson ducked under the ball, and was clearly in Summer's line of sight. As clear an offside as you'll get in that scenario.Apparently Neville referred to their disallowed goal as 'blatant cheating.' I think the club need to ask for clarification of these comments.
It’s a subjective decision. It was pretty similar to Bernardo when Stones scored the winner at Wolves last season. He needs a lesson in rule interpretation, Robertson is in an offside position, for the goal to be allowed he would have to stand still, he made the deliberate action by ducking under the ball, if he would have stood still the ball would have hit him, offside, he impacted on the keeper simply by being there.
Teams defenses work all we on defensive actions and our lads left him in, Offside. Neville is an incompetent fool.
I only remember 2 Liverpool chances - Gakpo and Salah. And we could have had several more goals - Haaland's penalty; NOR missed 2; Doku was inches away from NOR's cross to name a fewPep got it spot on, played the game to expose their weak points and not play into their hands for once and we made it look simple in the end. Little tweaks like haaland actively cutting off supply to VVD and forcing konate onto the ball are details we don't typically see, that has ljinders inner know how all over it for me, he knows their weaknesses better than anybody.
We were fantastic in large parts, mainly first half but most of the second half, especially once it went to 3 we dropped off and gave away many really good chances that the dippers inexplicably failed to convert.
I'll put that down to us playing the scoreline though. At 2 and then 3 up we didnt need to be dominating, just had to keep them out and we did exactly that. Just need to work on prolonging our good periods in games. The pleasing thing to me is that is nowhere near the highest level we can reach, feel like there's at least 2 more gears for us to find and that's before adding Rodri back into the mix.
Statement result right on the heels of arsenal dropping points is exactly what we needed, they'll have 2 weeks to shit the bed every night thinking of us coming up behind them now. Hope pep sends him a friendly text during the week, arteta comes across as the type who would let that eat at him all week. Wibble wibble Mikel.
The difference is here, Robertson ran across the goal directly in Donnarumma's vision. That to me was more significant than his ducking out of the way as it affects the goalie's positioningIt’s a subjective decision. It was pretty similar to Bernardo when Stones scored the winner at Wolves last season.
Both were flagged on field. VAR suggested a review for our goal and didn’t for the dippers.
Ah well, fuck them.
Maybe just the one!Not like you to look at men, is it? ;)
ThisTell you something, they call Pep a cheque book manager but...
Doku... I'd never heard of his and yet this season he has really grown I to his role and is now looking a level above anything I've seen for a long long time.
Nico G, has been coached and... The best compliment I can give him is we're not missing Rodri.
But even Rodri, wasn't the player he was when he joined us. Pep got him there.
Nor, this kid has potential to be a great asset.
Nunes, has now replaced Walker and the mistakes have disappeared. Pep has coached him into a decent full back.
Credit to Pep for rebuilding the team in such a short time as well. That first half we looked like a Pep city team, we looked back and our intricate possession and technical play was incredible.
Arsenal will now be looking over there shoulder at an absolute juggernaut coming at them and shitting it!
They will fall over in the new year and bottle it providing we keep this up.
I always thought gvardiol would be the natural successor to stones but he isn’t. Far too many sloppy passes. That inside ball he plays from lb is normally a disaster.gvardiol has always been a bit of a liability in possession, but some of his decisions 2nd half left your heart in your mouth! Dias dragged him through the game.
I think Cherki will be the player you turn to in the tight games against lesser teams in the last 20 mins of games. Hard to see him having the physicality to play week in week out.
One slip aside, Donna has been absolutely superb, buy quality, get quality!
Wait until Mrs Stones gets hold of you!Cheeky!!! I’m only looking at their football prowess. *innocent look*
Plus I’m old not dead. ;-) ;-)
