Not entirely relevant to the thread but can't believe we're into another international break. Seems every two weeks now.
Surely there cant be another one for at least a few months now. Makes the weeks seem ridiculously long. (Probably says more about my pathetic life)

There only ever used to be two international breaks before Christmas and two after. An extra one was added earlier in the season ahead of the Winter World Cup in 2022 and, for some reason, FIFA have stuck with it and all the national governing bodies have let them get away with it.

It's being changed and extended next season.

The breaks are usually in September, October, November, and then March.

Next season the September break is going to be longer, October is being removed, and November and March are remaining untouched.

I was very impressed with Burn when he got sent off. Apologised to his team mates and fans and acknowledged the referee when leaving the pitch. Knew he had coocked up and didn't remonstrate or argue the decision.
I've seen Burn being interviewed on regional telly up here and he comes across as a decent guy. Fair do's to him - he's a player of limited natural ability who has worked hard at improving himself. Now living the dream of playing for his local club, and of course England. He does a lot for local schools by all accounts. Good luck to the lad.

They're very up and down this season. Hard to call it. Here's hoping for:

Donnarumma
Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reilly
Gonzalez Bernardo
Cherki Foden Doku
Haaland
I see your team and i adjust mine...
.................,Donny
Nunes Stones Dias. O'Reilly
Rodri..... Gonzo
Savio......Foden.......Jeeza
..........Haaland............

Burn will be missing - suspended after getting sent off. Pope and Gordon both withdrew from the England squad so we'll see whether they appear, but must be doubtful. Even though they have home advantage they must be low on confidence.

Hope our lads come back safe and well next week, and ready to receive a good kicking as the Geordies usually get away with murder against us, but, I think we'll build on last week's great results. 3 wins and 11 goals.

3 points for City. 2-0 win.

I'd go...
Donna
Nunes Stones Ake O'Reilly
Rodri Nico
Foden Cherki Doku
Haaland

Surely you wouldn't drop Gvardiol and Dias?

I cant quite make my mind up on the starting 11, I imagine there will no doubt be a few injuries picked up over international duty but for now id go;

Donnarumma

Nunes
Dias
Gvardiol
O'reilly

Nico
Silva

Foden
Reijnders
Doku

Haaland

Wouldn't surprise me if Pep put stones at CB and pushed Gvardiol out to LB.

Either way it cant come soon enough!

I'd bring Savinho in for Cherki, I reckon the pace of the game might be a bit much for Cherki. Hall will probably be the left back, he's just back injury, get Sav running at him.

Doku against Trippier could be a disaster for them.

He's a guy living the dream and is grounded enough to recognise it. Easy to like

I doubt Pep will do anything similar to my suggestions but I think Gvardiol has been error prone so maybe being rested would be a good thing. And Ake is a fine player.

In for a penny in for a pound re also replacing Dias with the excellent Stones.

One thing I hope we never try again is Gvardiol at LB when other options are available.

Far too many internationals, and far too many Champions League games, Fifa and Uefa are milking us for paying to watch football on Sky, TNT, Amazon etc. the only way this will change is for us to boycott those pay for channels, which means I will hardly see any decent football again

Its ridiculous this is the 3rd international break of the season already. Weve only played 11 league games

Ake looked very rusty last outing (and has lost his ability to compete in the air) and Gvardiol is offering up too many sloppy passes - same team as Dippers, except Stones for Gvardiol and maybe Sav for Cherki.
